Sky Sports to remain home of Formula 1 until 2029 after deal extended in all Sky markets

Sky are wanting me to go back and keep sending me sky stream offers. Sky TV Ultimate + Sky Sports for £35 on 18 month contract.

Any Sky Stream users in here and how does it perform? I’ve read there are issues with scheduling and the program availability is hit and miss if you can’t view live (IE quali shows not being available until well over 24hrs after the fact).

But but it’s so exciting, I have sky but watch a fair bit of other stuff. If you must have f1 it’s streamed on a few European channels.
Personally I think it was wrong to sign it all over to sky but money talks and gets what it wants.

I'm F1 mad and I have been since 1995, but I'm not paying Sky the current £60 a month (Basic, Sports + HD) and a 1 off £20 fee as a new customer to watch it. I won't be watching anything else as freeview pretty much covers me.

But you're right, money talks and unfortunately exclusive contracts are all the rage.

Have you seen what properties in Vegas have to pay if they overlook the track? Cash is king. Or face having your views blocked.

You can laugh at that story here: https://www.ktnv.com/news/las-vegas...=KTNV obtained an F1 fact,Joe Moeller reports.

Yeah I've had that, missed qualifying and had to wait until hours later to watch it. If you add it to your playlist, it normally appears in there. Which is what I now do although I do tend to catch them live.

I've ditched f1tv now. Subscription was coming up to renewal. Spent some time trying to work around but can't be bothered.
Glad I paid monthly as I was close to going annual!

Its odd, I really don't understand why Sky doesn't offer an F1TV style subscription instead of charging a stupid amount each month  people would snap it up like mad if you give them the option of an annual or monthly plan, hell i'd even be happy paying £10 a month or £100 a year. I understand it costs money to provide a broadcast service for any program and F1 wont be cheap but surely they're losing customers due to their pricing..

Because... they can. If enough people continue to pay it, they'll keep charging ridiculous money.

Madness. I managed to use an F1TV Pro subscription for the best part of last year and this year so far until they caught wind of people finding ways to make themselves not be in the UK... and it was great, reliable and affordable. Dunno, someone at Sky, some young 20 year old needs to head to their meetings and knock some sense into the money grabbers and let them know they can grab more money by making things cheaper

Basically this.

I'm guessing more people would drop sky completely if this was an option.

Or that's what sky think

Much less interested now anyway. Was kind of hoping that they'd jack up the price so I could "leave".. Basically addicted lol, watching out of habit.

So in some ways it's a blessing. I've been forced to go cold turkey!

What has changed? It's working for me?

Well, I say it's working... trying to watch in a browser and it's pausing every 10 seconds or so. I've downloaded a 3rd party app to view the stream (through F1TV) and the freezing is gone, but sometimes it drops quality to the point you can't read the time gaps and stuff. I've checked connection speed and it's as fast as I can get, which is more than enough for every other streaming service.

Have mine on my Apple TV with the same issues 250mb fibre hard wited

I'm closer than ive ever been to giving up on f1. Don't really talk/think about it anymore.

F1tv going, when paying a fair price for it has really soured it for me.

I hear Apple TV are considering bidding for the F1 as they do for the MLS. Hopefully they get some decent presenters.
Sky F1 went from great to god awful. It's more pantomime than racing these days which has really put me off.

Let's be honest, Sky have been ripping people off for years. Let the tech companies take over, they might still be ripping us off, but at least the technology, boxes and apps will be decent. They might even let you watch when on holiday :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: can you imagine, you can take your £25 a month subscription and watch in Spain. WOW, it's like living in the 21st century.

Just think, they might even dabble with a little F1 in VR since they are making the vision pro.
