*** Sky TV Cancellation & Negotiation Thread ***

I've had Sky Stream for a few weeks now and I have to say, it's been faultless since it did a software update. I haven't had any of the reported issues. It is cabled to a decent FTTP connection, not sure how much poor wifi has with the reported issues. With that said, I don't use it that often, mainly for Football and the odd TV programme. Streamed Day of the Jackel and a few others with no problems.
Still no real issues. The other day it did take a while to start the football but I think it might have done a software update or something after I turned it off at the wall for decorating. I haven't really had any of the reported issues with it at all, and the wife hasn't moaned about it either.

Whats this about paramount + and sky cinema? Cant see anything on google. My contract ends in april but getting cinema extended that to December.

I don’t use it enough to keep it so will use the paramount + thing to exit.

Just having a look at SkyQ (which was a struggle to find on the website) as my internet deal comes to an end shortly, so considered switching to Sky for TV\Broadband. I can't seem to find a package without Netflix as part of it though, which I don't really want to pay for, do they do a TV package without it?
No, I believe every TV package comes with Netflix Basic as a value-add.

The Basic Sky Signature pack which comes with Sky Q technically comes with Netflix standard with ads but there's no discount for not activating it. You could instead just get Sky Q Essentials which is all the free to air channels on a Sky Q box and costs as little as £5pm depending on who you speak to.

What should I be looking at as a decent price for Sky Q with standard TV + UHD + Netflix premium?

Currently paying £46.50, and that's going up by £5 (~10.75%) next month

Unfortunately doesn't look like there are any new customer deals which are any better at the moment, I assume they're trying to kill Sky Q and push everyone on to the inferior Stream?

You might get close to £40pm but you'll need to cancel then negotiate during the 31 day cooling off period.
There are a lot fewer deals on Q as they do want to kill it off. You can sometimes get lucky though, depending on which adviser you speak to.

I've had a letter saying my Sky Stream bill is going up around £9, it's broken down by package eg Netflix, Sports and so on going up £2.50 etc but it's still a lot. A lot of it I am in contract for but still need to consider my options here, if there are any.

If you want out of your contract then just complain to them about the lip sync on the puck. It's been affecting many people for a very long time and Sky seem incapable of finding a fix which works for all. They've let many people leave long term contracts without penalty because of it.

I cant beleive Eurosports has now gone. Thats mainly what I had sky for really as I watch the live cycling.

Its now on TNT Sports which is an extra £29 per month. I wonder if they woudl do a deal if I renew my contract.

Didn't know that, mostly use it around the cycling in the summer. Guess I'll go back to the itv coverage (which isn't too bad tbf).

There’s no FTA coverage of any of the grand tours after this year, including the TdF. It’s TNT or nothing. At least officially. There is some discussion about keeping FTA coverage going on but nothing confirmed yet. If it does happen it’ll be highlights.

No I dont have EE and I like to record the cycling to watch later.

They have offered to drop me down tp Sky essentials for £15 which i wasnt aware of. I can just add TNT myself then and will stil be cheaper than before. I dont really watch Sky Atlantic etc.

I wonder if it's worth renaming this thread 'Broadband/TV' cancellation/negotiation, because all the major operators are in cahoots with one another and the entire market is stitched up against the consumer, always.

For the Broadband market at least, there is no cahoots whatsoever. Put simply the margins are so thin the retail prices are always going to be similar assuming the service is comparable.

I signed up new contacts in Jan for TV and BB and my bill has somehow jumped from £70 to £78 already, yet I've had no notice so I've got to ring them up yet again. I am just on the bare Sky Signature package and 'Superfast' broadband of 70mb ffs.

I can't even make sense of their billing because it is just a mess.
