Sky UK launching HDR Wednesday 27th May.

Nothing in those 3 links answers my question.

For clarity -

It seems that within the models of UHD skyQ boxes released by sky over the last few years there is a model(s) that can not output High Dynamic Range, I would like to know which of those don't.

Some articles suggest the first gen boxes (mine) don't whereas other articles suggest it's the 1Tb refresh boxes. Again I'm talking solely about UHD boxes not the inferior :p HD SkyQ boxes.

Personally I believe it's the first gen boxes due to the HDMI 1.4 output.
However what muddy's the water is that, according to the Sky's SkyQ community forum, the early V1 SkyQ boxes, that had HDMI v1.4 were in fact all updated to v2.0 by firmware. So now it is only the aerly 1tb boxes and the miniboxes, obviously, that aren't capable of HDR 4k. As the HDR firmware has already been sent out to the 2TB boxes then all that is required is a trigger sent out to them to enable them all. Hence no need for staggered firmware updates to occur from the 27th.
I guess us early adopters will find out what is really correct in a couple of days....

Nothing has been confirmed because of the V1's having the HDMI 2.0 upgrade. As stated, nobody really knows until Wednesday..

Would a search for HLG content on YouTube confirm it?

Guess we will just have to wait, however the HDR flag on my box is still set to off so I don't think HLG YouTube will work at this point.

And yes your right the V1 box shipped with hdmi2.0 silicone but was not enabled until ~2016 along with hdcp2.2.

Edit: tried it anyway and nope not through sky yet.

No it won't unfortunately work until sky send the trigger to the box on Wednesday. I was, as the content will probably be few and far between, I was just suggesting a means by which to test whether we have the hardware necessary.
You mentioned a HDR flag, how do you find that please?

Just substitute xx.xx for the IP of your UHD box.

I hadn't spotted, that they do say, netflix/D+ may soon be hdr too, so, although, the bandwidth they use is not greater, the hardware must be capable of HDR10 or DV(10)

Not sure why they don't have movies initially, they have test driven HDR it in Italy, uk media licensing ?, is HDR more expensive than 4K

My box says

"hardwareModel" : "ES240",
"hardwareName" : "Falcon",
"hdrCapable" : false,
"householdToken" : "",
"localIRDatabase" : true,
"manufacturer" : "Sky",
"meshEnabled" : true,
"modelNumber" : "Q112.000.21.00L (53wk8j8)",
"networkVersion" : "2.00",
"numDTTTuners" : 0,
"pipCapable" : true,
"purchasebalance" : "0.01",
"purchaselimit" : "100.01",
"receiverID" : "D 1E78F45A1131D0AC",
"serialNumber" : "06866889 C",
"systemUptime" : 34872,
"uhdCapable" : true,
"versionNumber" : "32B108",

So not HDR capable, but compatible model number. I will see if the HDR flag changes tomorrow.
