Skylake Clockspeeds and benchmarks!

well pretty sure its going to be faster than sata3 as that goes thru the chipset anyway
and then u got the 6gb/s limit ontop that

you not going to notice it gaming or opening browser tabs :)
its for ppl doing crazy heavy stuff

i prefer the m.2 size more than taking up a pci-e slot tho or them 2.5inch from intel

Fair point, but if I am putting £1,800 into a new build I'd like it to be a fairly educated/'best available' sort of buy :)

Got a hunch the 6600k will be £250+ they will plant it right behind the 8 thread quads and just up from the 4 thread haswells.

Yeah I'm expecting it to be around £280, which makes it £20 less than the 5820k, I'm guessing motherboard prices won't be too much different between Z170 and X99, so the only thing tempting me towards Skylake would be ridiculous clocks... If they turn out to be true.

im not good on uk prices but i dont see how they would price the new i5 above the 4790k :o

if you will notice any difference between them and a cheaper evo in a games pc is debatable
see what u got left over from gpu spend would be the advice

I've already bought the GPU, down to £1,200. Everyone's told me to wait for Skylake and.. I'm still not too sure whether to purchase it!

Wednesday will tell :)

Some of you must have read Anandtech today and seen the Broadwell overclocking results. The guy had the chip at 1.4v and the thing crapped dropped its pants at just 4.3Ghz. I don’t like spreading FUD but if this is a sign of things to come from Intel I’m not expecting great things from Skylake.

Depending on when that BDW was made that might not reflect on Skylake.

If it's an early batch it will obv. be terrible due to manuf. woes.

Not too surprising given the toothpaste they stick between the die and IHS. Even devils canyon was fail even though the entire point of the refresh was to make overclocking better apparently

The price is so high because thats typical OCuk pricing. It's amazing they sell any really when competitors sell them for £250-280.
