Just moments ago I sprinted to the door to accept my latest OCUK batch, about 10 seconds after the door letterbox was clattered (no use of doorbell) I opened the door -in my dressing gown- to find the delivery guy walking away just after he arrived. I said "You were about to leave were you?" he replied "Aye" handed me the box, no signature required (I recall most of my DHL deliveries being signed for?) he hopped into his red van -no DHL logo- and off he goes.

Anyone else had to sprint to catch a delivery guy who was too lazy to wait?

-I just wanted to add, I'm more than happy with OCUK service, its top notch :D just pity about one offs from the delivery?

Doesn't sound like a DHL delivery.

Ring DHL and complain if you believe the service was not acceptable

Exactly, I have had only Citylink turn up in unmarked vans.

On a side note, Parcel Force are ace in my area, we have a long drive so they just leave all the stuff at the bottom and forge a signature :D

you never got it did you?

... Shouldn't have made this thread and claimed a new ship ;) haha

*I don't think you should do this >.>

It looks like they gave it to a contractor??

This is the trouble with most couriers, in outlying regions (like where I live and probably where you live) they outsource to 3rd rate delivery companies in that area.

Personally I only ever order from companies that offer Parcelforce or Interlink as they're the only couriers that are wholly responsible for the delivery from the seller to the customer in my area.

Anyway, I'm glad I caught the delivery. I would complain directly to them and maybe I will, I have 2 exams tomorrow and not much time to spare -why's he on OCUK then?- good question, I'm eating my lunch, then studying right here pronto.

One thing that I have found with some couriers in my area, is that because they class my address as rural they will hold items until the weekend and deliver everything in one batch (one nice chap told me this whilst I was collecting my delivery from them!!)

Not too bad you'd think.. but they either won't show up on a weekend, or they'll ignore the (sometimes) expensive next-day delivery sticker.

I'd understand if I was 20 miles out in the country down some dirt trails, but it's 3 miles to the nearest motorway junction and it's all tarmac'd roads.

I don't wish to start a flame war against CityLink but 90% of the time, they can't deliver the items and I have to collect. So much so, I won't order from a retailer who uses them. The best in my area are UPS and TNT. Never failed a delivery, and get's here pre-12pm most times.

If your talking about here, they've used dhl for ages..

Parcelforce left something for me at local post office last week which is such a refreshing change to "returned to our depot please arrange re-delivery" damn I hate that!

You cant be having a go at him if "moments ago" you was still in your dressing gown when it was past 1:00pm, you should have been dressed and ready.

Thats what the @home service is.

Its old dears in their car and and the odd bloke in is van doing the private address stuff they dont want to be doing on their own vans.
None of the people "work" for DHL.

I used to contract to DHL, but i used to get business and private deliveries. There was some lazy woman who did some of the private stuff for me, i say that, i used to get most of it 2 or 3 days later to deliver because she either couldnt find it, or couldnt be bothered to go, cue me getting ear ache every five minutes.
