Sleeping Dogs performance

Yeah, the biggest pita for me is the still getting shot when I've gone around the corner thing... There was a reasonable explanation for that on the previous page I think though (EDIT: LOL, that was from a completely different thread actually... I haven't even had a smoke today lol..)

Regarding smoothness in Sleeping dogs... If you go purely by the benchmark results (like the ones I posted above), Extreme looks like it'd be a bit choppy.
Having just gone for a 10 minute drive with those settings inc VSYNC-On, I have to say that it feels just as smooth as it does with high AA.
Can I tell the difference between the two AA settings? Erm... No tbh. They both look fantastic.

The only problem is my GPU reaching 79C and probably more if I continued  At these temps I get artifacting.

An Accelero Extreme is most certainly on the cards.

Just wanted to give my opinion that i see the difference and after playing on both settings i also find High setting to be smoother but Extreme setting is easily playable and it doesnt lag for me.. i just dont like my card touching 75c :p

Also i'd like to point out that this game can be pretty tough on CPU.. my 2700K was around 72c - 75c @ 5.0GHz after only running a quick bench. (only reaches 68c in 3DMark11) That combined with a hot GPU made my case feel close to an oven. Might be a good thing with winter on its way :D

Thanks for watching :)

Nice results. Those memory clocks make a nice difference and I guess 5ghz can't hurt either :D

Btw, I still can't see a difference between those pics, but I'm glad someone can :)

Am AMD optimized game, that's CPU intensive..... HA! you have got to love that :D

That is funny. An intel CPU would probably do well there then. :D

Over 1000 posts and counting on this forum regarding Total War Shogun and the supposed "AMD Optimised" game not running any 7 series card without a hard lock up. They managed to finally make it run on DX9 but gave up it seems getting DX11 to work.

Do any of you get frame drops when driving? When walking about in the same places where am driving my game is a solid 60fps but soon has I start to drive down same streets it drops quite bad.

Am running @1080p with HD pack plus AA is High, all other settings at there max with no blur.

Happens to me with one or two cards. Can drop to 30fps when driving fast but when walking around it's normal enough.

I read somewhere that is something to do with an effect they put in the game when driving and is gona be fixed in the next patch. I get it when driving in some places but usually when driving fast.

The most noticeable difference in the above Extreme and High screenshots, is that High can only render a motorbike and Extreme can render a bus :)

This is one of those occasions where i'm not worried about graphic fedility. Even when the game is maxed out it still wreaks of being consoley. Doesn't have that "PC" feel to the textures or res.

I thought that was fixed in a previous patch? Are you running version 1.5 shankly?

yes 1.5 this drop only happens when driving fast :( makes you not want to drive lol all other times game is a solid 60fps.
edit
looking though the patch notes they nothing there on frame drops, its more about mouse controls.

I don't think ive ever seen fps dip below 40 in the actual game.

What fps are you getting when driving?

Latest drivers+caps?

Honestly cannot see the difference between those two.

I can see huge differences in the light levels. Most off you must be blind lol. Look how dark the shadows are on extreme compared with high. Look at the sky on extreme also and you can see its darker. This probably has nothing at all to do with high and extreme and more to do with the time in game but it still shows that people really are not looking for differences. If you ask me the street lights look better on the extreme as there light is not filling the whole screen/sky and whats that blurry mess meant to be in the sky on high. Is it the shape of taller buildings as its not there on extreme.
