Sleeping Dogs

Hmmm I thought I was ok at combat until that karaoke and Benny bit (3 different fights). Keep getting owned on the last one. Still love it, just need more time play it.

Going try with 360 pad today.

Really loving this game so far!! Just curious on what settings people are using and what performance you seem to be getting? I have set aa to normal as i guess that would be a killer as well as shadows. Just done my first bit of driving and seemed to get around 55fps, thats with a 7850 clocked to 1050/1200 and an i5 2500k at 4.5ghz

Everything maxed except AA which is on normal, runs very well on the rig in my sig.

Hate my pc, still cant find a solution to the freeze then minimize prob i have, on a certain mission now in sleeping dogs and if i look at a certain point it crashes, then minimizes and i cant reopen.. im baffled to this problem

A note on performance

Everything maxed except AA which is on normal, runs very well on the rig in my sig.
This is what I have ended up with-

Changing AA and Shadow resolution from medium to high only had a difference of 2fps on average FPS for me(and I certainly don't think it goes very low at all). I didn't change SSAO though, which did start to kill it.... and I cin't stand motion blur!
This is with a phenomX4/8gb ram/6950, so not exactly a beast.

am i the only person never to watch cut scenes or in game movies ever???

I hope so:p

Where is the person that sells you a new bed for your North Point apartment? Think I saw her around the night market but I went back and couldn't see her.

bought a key from G2Play how long does it take for them to email it to you?

EDIT: NM got it :P

The tutorial in this game isn't that great, the driving is a little annoying especially when you turn the camera and then turn it back, it seems to want to run wild in some way.

I'm also getting dead spots in the fighting where if i hold onto the left mouse button and charge an attack, it doesn't always register and i can't do anything else.. which leaves me vunerable to attack (i know i can counter but this sometimes doesn't register either!)

Whats more annoying is everytime an officer gets close you may get 1 punch in before you are grappled and arrested (you can space bar out of it but they cut loose after a few seconds). There needs to be some sort of disarming technique to get their weapons off them.

Running the game on a i5 3570K and GTX 680 both overclocked, the game play is smooth and silky especially with the HD texture pack added in aswel. Not run a benchmark yet but will do tonight. With everything maxed out i find i lag at some spots with fps maybe dropping below 40fps? But will confirm with a benchmark. With shadows turned down a bit and slightly less AA, the gameplay is very very smooth and of course i have Vsync turned off aswel.

So far the game is very good, exciting and i love the moves you can do and grapple techniques, throwing your opponents through windows and into fans.. all good fun! would be awesome with a bit more gore aswel. A few more updates to polish up the loose ends will see this game in any game chart i think.

I recommend using gamepad (x360pad), it is absolutely perfect with this game. No problems with fighting/running/driving/camera at all.

Unfortunately i don't have one :( so stuck with my WASD keys and space bar for sprint! Actually i was quite surprised by that... but it did remind me one game i totally loved with a similiar layout...

Anyone guess which game it is??

Wish they made an exact copy like GTA's do. Still good though, its got quite a ffew familiar things still.

Same, would be nice.. remember when GTA first game out and it looked kinda bland with mediocre grapbics.. then modders came along with ENBseries and HD packs which now makes the game look better than some of the newer stuff thats out now. Not to mention replacing the cars in game with real ones!

I keep getting random crashes after a while, but I'm not really bothered by them as at the moment they remind me that I need to do other things this weekend, and they don't happen for quite a while so I can still get at least several missions done before the game crashes.

Aside from that I enjoy the game more the more I play it.
