Sleeping Dogs

It astounds me how unbelievably high quality this game is, and how low some review scores are.

Seriously I think this might be the best sandbox game of the generation, perhaps tied with Red Dead Redemption.

BTW I just made 24 minute gameplay 1080p video showing all elements, but it will take a while to upload to youtube.
 
same, i find this game a lot better than gta, 93% complete now, and after I finish everything I'll probably do another playthrough.

Well after raging about how shoddy the settings are for the game and managed to get the game running butter smooth, it truly is a joy to play. How it has got such low scores is very bewildering to me. The game is very fun, the combat for a sandbox game is simply stunning (even though I am bloody useless at it!.)

Graphics are super sharp and it plays really really nicely. Don't think it is as good as Max Payne 3 for GOTY for me personally but I only have put it in around 2 hours into the game so far. Still haven't fired a weapon which is surprising and refreshing at the same time.
 
Low scores from whom? The same people who give a rehashed call of duty 80% plus because they're in the pockets of some publishers? I thought most people here knew that scores from the big sites are pretty meaningless.

Exactly. The game has been getting around 85s to low 80s. It is easily in the 90s.

i pay little attention to reviews a lot of games get 10/10 just because what game they are or whos made it

Edit: What a shambolic bunch of devs. The game doesn't even support the flipping keyboard properly yet advertises the game with 'key remapping' features. I haven't even got ingame yet and am thinking about asking for a refund.

Same. Oh man, not being able to assign the arrow keys is such a pain. Yes, I know I'm one of the few freaks that doesn't use WASD, but I prefer the arrow keys and surrounding groups of keys. I use the same setup for every game.
Numpad can be used, but it's hard getting used to it especially testing out the fighting controls for the first time. Might have to get a gamepad.
 
anyone boguht any of the good cars yet? i did the misisons to steal a specific car to raise some easy money....

went off to the car dealers with 700k...
lol the good ones are all 1mil + and you need like face 8 ARG!
 
About 13 hours in now and still loving it. The story (while not exactly original) is pretty well executed and the characters are good. Side missions are really fun as well.

Indeed i have not been racing through the story been doing a lot of side missions and just messing around great fun.

Although i am noticing stuttering a lot not sure whats up i tried so many things removed drivers and reinstalled tried that fps limiter nothing dont know what going on? it even stutters on low settings so no idea what gone wrong im sure it was not like this from first patch but maybe i just started to notice.

My benchmark not bad so cant be my card surely i am noticing stuttering even more i am at shooting scenes now.

Last 3 missions were so good, ending was really good apart from when
Jackie died :(
Still have plenty of side-missions and going to try and get all 50 achievements, took me around 16 hours doing mainly all the campaign, amazing game though, will go for a second playthrough eventually when I get all achievements.

I've got a stutter too on a 560 gtx only happens randomly though, I own retail, should have turned auto update off if I knew the patch causes it
