Sleeping Dogs

It is not short. There is plenty to do, and even if there is not as much as GTA(possibly, not sure), it is generally of better quality tbh. GATIV......Assassin missions(lol, some assassin- drive somewhere kill 100 people then drive off:p), races, stealing cars, thats about it isn't it?(not played it in ages).

At the moment I am story 80% complete after 18 hours, but I have plenty of side missions to do. I haven't done any of the jobs(stealing cars, extortion) and have loads if drugs busts left as well. also need 4 statues.

They have set up a very easy way to introduce dlc in this game which I hope they use, just add new cases.

Ahh ok thanks :D Will defo get this game! Yea the GTA IV "missions" were assembly-line stuff after a while but the game lasted quite long. And I like how you can get a quick-fix by creating your own micro-missions: just steal a cop car and access the computer to chase down baddies - or just ram a copper car and take off for a chase. SD has things like this too?

This game (demo) is a bit of system killer. 1920x1200 on the highest details and I get an average of less then 30 FPS on a 3580K @ 4.6, GTX670 stock. Looking at EVGA precision the GPU is maxed out, I wonder if it works any better on AMD video cards?

Seems to favour AMD slightly at the moment but if the game becomes a big hit Nvidia might be able to do something with their drivers.

Extreme AA runs super sampling twice, there's nothing that can be done in drivers, just don't run AA at extreme and you're fine.

Extreme aa murders your framerate. Here's what i got with normal aa

Have to say the game runs swimmingly on my 275GTX on Medium settings. Only time I've ever noticed slowdown is when in the wardrobe, which I found odd, but it wasn't that annoying.

Well thats that then. I saved it just after the second to last mission and now it will not load the game.....guess I will never see the last mission.

I can send you a save of just before the last mission. When you try to load the file it should be called
Buried Alive
If it is then you're in luck. I periodically make manual saves in games incase something like this happens to me.

Edit: Spoiler fail :D

Thank you for the offer, but I got it working in the end, after about the 10th attempt of loading it(though the game seemed buggy for some reason, with objects artefacting a bit). Turns out it was the last mission.

Completed it now and thoguht it was excellent. The thing that impressed me most was not just the story, but the consistency of it. It managed to keep the pace all the way through without any lulls, and the characters were really good.

Great game. 8/10 ....hopeful for some story dlc now.

Weird question but are you sure it was the last mission? Did the credits roll?

The reason I ask is because the last mission isn't available straight after the one before it and for me at least it was pretty obvious it was the last mission.

Yeah, credits rolled and everything. I just got mixed up as I looked at the missions complete stat a bit before, and miscounted due to having to start one again.

I still have quite a few side mission to do as well now.

Absolutely loving this game, I have had a few annoying bugs and crashes but a couple reloads and i can get past them. 1 Crash happened right near end of a quest and had to redo the quest :(

But them bads are forgotten with such a great story and feel to the game.

• Mouse camera logic has been reworked for improved precision (independent of the raw mouse input option)
• The Action Hijack binding is now independent of the Sprint/Parkour key value
• While driving players can now use the mouse to look up and down
• While driving the camera no longer immediately auto-centers when you stop moving the mouse
• The high-speed camera shake while driving has been reduced
• Mouse sensitivity no longer differs when Wei is and isn’t carrying a gun

UI
• Front End screens now support a button help bar that is fully interactive via mouse

Now this is real support for the PC. Addressing issues quickly as soon as they are brought to attention. Give me a sequel now!

My fps seems to of risen a bit since patch but could be the 306.02 drivers....hitting 120 in some areas and usually near 100 often unless on a busy road it will go to 60-80.

I have to say wow at the latest patch!

It runs way more smoothly now and they've got rid of that annoying black cloud around Wei. Yay!
Plus, I don't see any more of that scan line effect that some other people report seeing.

I picked up this game last night, and so far I'm impressed. I haven't played much yet, so I'm looking forward to this weekend when I can properly devote some time to it.

I've been playing this on PS3 as it's great lying on the couch and playing but have been really impressed, really hope they continue from this great start. I think I'd even buy DLC for this if it was decent story content. I've easily had 20hours on this and still haven't finished the storyline quests as keep getting side tracked robbing bank vans, stealing cars and collecting money.
