Smartwatch Thread (news/apps/updates)

Anyone got the cracking on the back on the moto 360?.
Had mine 14 months now and cracks have started to show on the back. Something to do with stress from the watch strap, design flaw on the 1st Gen.

I called motorola but having no luck with them, they wont fix it as they say its out of the 12 month warranty.
Ive just sent off an email quoting the sales of goods act etc but dont think it will do any good.

I saw an article on the net saying you can replace the back yourself but cant find any to purchase anywhere.

Anyone else had the cracking issue?.

Mine has a small crack but nothing for me to worry about, but one of my pin holes has broken enlarging it so with a little bit of pressure it pops out, looking around i can't find a spare for that bit, so i have not worn it for a week.

GWR battery is a good 2 days now with light use. My wife wants a smart watch now but I dunno if I can justify the cost of a gear s2 classic over something like mine which I got for £100 used.

Anyone recommendations for a replacement on my moto 360 (1st gen).
The back has cracked, motorola wouldnt budge on fixing it as its 14 months old.
Luckily amazon gave me a £100 credit towards a new watch but im done with the moto 360's, shocking customer support and plagued with issues.

Can anyone recommend a replacement?. Dont want to pay silly money so was looking at the Lg Urbane or the Asus Zen 2...

Are there any new models coming out this year worth waiting for?.

May as well hold out for some new models coming later I say.

Huawei Watch looks great but fiddly charging port I think you'll find annoying after using the Moto 360's effortless wireless dock.

Currently on the look out for a Sony Smartwatch 3 to give it a shot and see how I like it.

haven't worn a watch in over 6 years since my boys were born and now they're old enough not to be carried so can wear watch again (that's my excuse for not wearing a watch lol)

I've gone and ordered a 360 gen2, will see how this goes down...

I tried the garmin vivo hr but wasn't overly impressed, too much of a half way house.

Battery life on my original Moto 360 is starting to get quite poor (e.g. less than a day), which is a shame, so definitely going to be upgrading this year but planning to wait for the next round of watches (possibly/probably a 360 v3 if there is one).

Anyone seen/know of any leaks/rumours or anything, don't recally reading anything about upcoming models...

Agggggh why can't I get my moto 360 to record my steps on Google fit?

I used to be able to play footy with my watch on and phone left at home. The watch would resync when I returned home.

Now the watch won't record any of my steps unless the phone is with me

Any ideas ?

Install Moto Body...

From what I can gather Google Fit is a bit retarded and lets the phone override the watch, installing Moto Body (and opening it once on the watch to give it permissions for sensors etc) stops Fit from doing that and it seems to work fine again. Although this did also give a hit to battery life which I mentioned above has become a bit of an issue.

EDIT: You may also need to 'connect' Moto Body to Google Fit, not sure which bit actually fixes it in hindsight as I did both...

Yeah, ages ago Fit would record all the steps even when disconnected from the phone, but it all changed after an update quite a while ago, then for sometime it didnt work at all until Motorola released an updated Moto Body that passed the data to Fit.

Works great now & also passes on heart rate data too.

You may need to launch it on the watch, I've had before where it was there but needed to be ran once to update to the latest version. The rest of the work is done with Moto Body on the phone, go into Settings then Data Sharing and connect to Google Fit.
