Smartwatch Thread (news/apps/updates)

I'm not getting brilliant battery life from my 360 Gen2 (42mm). Off charge at 7am and currently @ 63%. Usually down to around 40% by bed.

I do charge it every night anyway, but better battery life would had been nice.

My GWR is usually around 65-75% by the time I get home from work (18:00ish), when I usually drop it back on the charger at my desk. I've done two days with it easy when I've been on holiday.

To give an idea on battery life (moto 360 v2, 42mm), I had an early start with work on Friday so left the house at 6. By the time I got home at 8pm I was on 40% battery, this was with ambient display on all day.

I'm having a very buggy experience with my new moto 360 and my Moto X.

I keep getting the grey screen with the cloud that says "that didn't work, try again".

At first it was maps, a reset solved that. Then it was Google search and another reset solved it. Now I can't send texts etc, it gives me a message saying it needs access to contacts to be more accurate. It already has access to contacts. A bit stumped.

I remember the GWR being a bit buggy until it settled down but I don't remember it being this bad. Maybe I've just been spoiled by the Apple Watch and Pebble.

Well...my venture in to the wearbable arena was short lived.

Bought a Sony Smartwatch 3 and was initially impressed and that went downhill from there. Was bought so I could use it stand alone for tracking my running (well jogging) and have had no end of issues with GPS, battery life and apps deciding to stop tracking and working, so loosing all the data that has been gathered.

Has now been returned and will look at getting a dedicated GPS run tracker watch and then look at something else for the music side of things....really want to get rid of taking my Note 4 with me..is a wee bit cumbersome.

Am sure they will be great ina few years time and may look at coming back to them then, but for now, just do not get along with them and so will not be using

I have this too, for the same use. The GPS didnt lock once which was disconcerting but on the 4 other runs so far it has worked fine. It takes a while to lock doesnt it? I almost went for the TomTom Spark Music - seems a very solid platform for running, with music and not too crazy a price. The Moto 360 Sport looks good too. Another option is the Sony B trainer (earphones with GPS and a music player in), looks expensive but great.
