Smartwatch Thread (news/apps/updates)

I have this too, for the same use. The GPS didnt lock once which was disconcerting but on the 4 other runs so far it has worked fine. It takes a while to lock doesnt it? I almost went for the TomTom Spark Music - seems a very solid platform for running, with music and not too crazy a price. The Moto 360 Sport looks good too. Another option is the Sony B trainer (earphones with GPS and a music player in), looks expensive but great.

Will have a look at those over the weekend and see what they are like.

The moto 360 sport looks like the watch I've been waiting for. Built in GPS, yes please!

Dammit, I'm really tempted by one of these now. I've been waiting on a circular face with gps. If only the Huawei Watch came with GPS, that would eb a winner for me.

Also the Samsung Gear 2 looks excellent, but GPS only with 3G seems a bit pointless.

I got the notification of an update yesterday morning, but it was telling me to charge it first. However by the time I got home last night and managed to charge it and checked for updates the watch was telling me that it was up to date :(

I got the update on my 42mm 360 v2 in the week, the battery life is a little better, nothing major for me. Less than 0.5% saving an hour, if that.

To be honest, its not a massive update in terms of extra features/improvements but I'm sure theres a lot more underthehood changes and improvements. I havent encountered any issues where they lose connection and require a reboot yet. Strangely never had this issue with the 360 v1.

The Doze mode will be handy for the 46mm users. Mine only lost 9% in 8hrs overnight (so should be less for 46mm users) I dont think it massively benefits the 42mm watches as they would still struggle to get through 2 days.

There is an issue with the watch turning itself off when the battery is low. Some even reported as high as 40%! Mine actually turned off at 15%, which cheated me out of about 4 extra hours. Hopefully gets fixed in a further update.

Is there anything new on the horizon? I'm tempted to get the gen 2 moto 360 but I'm mindful of the fact it's been out a while and there may be some cool new devices round the corner?

Just got the Marshmallow update on my LG G Watch...Original! Had it off charge since 9am and right now it's sitting at 90% battery...with ambient display on etc...whatever magic Android have pulled off the battery life is looking phenomenal!

Checked my GWR and noticed it updated itself... with no notification or anything. Second time it's done that, not that I'm complaining. No idea how long I've had the update for :p.

EDIT: Found the gesture tutorial in the settings, ran that and the new gestures don't seem that bad.
