Smogsy: HZ vs Resolution Thread

To Clarify i retested.
16:9 2560x1440 Full screen display = aspect = full screen image (stretched)
16:9 2560x1440 Fullscreen Display set 1:1 = Full screen image (stretched)
16:9 2560x1440 Fullscreen GPU & Display Set = Blackbars + Input Lag

so no you cannot run Full screen 16:9 without input lag, the only way to run full screen 16:9 as shown above is use GPU scaling creating more inputlag

what should happen is overwatch should do the scaling, which it does not. because 21:9 was an afterthought & broken.

"Fullscreen 16:9 @ 2560x1440 creates black bars"
after retesting this was incorrect. i was writing all this from memory over multiple days of testing
Reading that hurt my head. lol.

Hey smogsy my boy! Have you noticed an improvement in the way Windows 10 handles scaling at 4K with the recent update? It is still not perfect, but has now got to a point I am comfortable with it. I use 200% scaling on my 27" monitor and it works nicely.

Maybe give Firefox a try. It scales very nicely and browsing is a pleasure. Try 200% scaling instead of 150 and you won't need to touch font size.

i cant use DPI scaling far to many applications i use don't support it & it makes it look horrid.
i wish they went the way apple did every app on OSX, even odd software just works with scaling..

Yeah I wish they did also. Things just work.

Here is what you should consider to do though. Use 200% in windows. The other apps just individually set them to run without scaling. Have you tried that?

Try the enchaned mode also. Since the new windows upgrade steam looks much better for me now. Before I had to run that at 100% or it looked horrible.
