this is along the same lines as the fat persons thread.

but why do smokers think they have the right to drop fag ends wherever they are, the streets are full of them and it is an eyesore, why is it not treated as litter and the offenders fined for it? not only that but some people even leave them smouldering.

also why do smokers smoke in very public places where people arent moving, for example train stations. i hate it, i get off the train, and go up the stairs which are enclosed (there are only about 30 steps) and people already light up completely regardless for all the non-smokers' health. also in london victoria station people are always smoking.

smokers are such selfish, pathetic people. how can they not go without a cigarette for a train journey.

i think people should not be able to smoke ANYWHERE outside their home, even walking down the street, if someone in front of you is smoking you get it right in the face. it is disgusting. fortunately people are starting to give up, but "chavs" still think it is cool to smoke.

i, as a non-smoker, dont want to have to breathe in other peoples' smoke, so why should i have to? it is damaging to my health yet the government do nothing about it.

(and before anyone goes on about car fumes being just as bad, yes they are however cars are an integral part of society if people need to make long journeys or transport heavy things etc. i also believe short journeys should be made on foot or by bike and that all public transport should be run on renewable fuel (they do it in delhi, india, why cant they do it here))

this threads been done time and time before, and as much as i agree with you mate (i've made a thread like this myself), smokers will try to justify it with some excuse :p which will just result in a thread full of flames
 
If you have never smoked befor than you will never no what its like

People smoke for many reasons. They may have a lot of stress and pressures because of economic and personal problems. They may be unemployed or working but not making enough money to take care of themselves and their families. They may be homeless, or they may be dealing with alcohol or cocaine/heroin addictions. Some may be in bad marriages or relationships in which there is physical and/or verbal abuse. All these people may smoke to feel relaxed or to give them energy while going through a hard time.

And dont tell me you have never thrown litter on the floor.
 
We have a rant about smokers every few weeks. I am a smoker and i alway put my stubs in the nearest bin. Not all smokers are enviromentally inconciderate, well apart from smoking in the first place.
 
Kill yourself if you dont like it.

Or spend your life campaining to someone that can actually do something about it. Crying on here seems to be the trend lately.

Ill blow smoke in your face if we ever meet :)

Anyway give it 20 years and it will be banned, in the mean time hold your breath.

Tell you what, if they stopped smoking they'd save a hell of a lot of money and probably help those economical problems ;)

Well i can safely say i dont smoke for any of these reasons...

although the coke addiction sounds like a giggle.

You do realise nicotine is a addictive drug?

Do you demand that the government ban fatty food as its bad for your health?

Seen as though youre so unselfish why dont you just accept peoples decisions to smoke and let them get on with it, if it means you occasionally smell smoke or see a tab end on the floor does it really matter, hardly the end of the world.

Some people may find something you do selfish and pathetic, but you dont see them complaining about it.


And i dont even smoke! :D

I totally agree with the OP.

Some smokers complain about their human rights, and how they should be allowed to smoke. Well, what about my human rights. Why should I have to breathe in your dirty, horrible, stinking smoke just because you're too selfish.

Sorry, but 99.9% of smokers get a nice big :rolleyes: from me. I absolutely hate it!

Of course, the smokers who smoke in designated areas, or in their homes... I have no problem with them. Just as long as they don't blow their smoke on me.
