SNES Mini Classic

I got one of these for nostalgia reasons and i buy every single Nintendo console. I have a fully loaded PI as well so my question is....... is it worth loading these extra games on the mini Snes? i really like the idea of having all my favorite games on the mini but is it safe? any chance of it bricking? i kind of like the idea of keeping it in its factory state

It looks perfectly safe and you can always back up the default config before tinkering. You can organise the games as you see fit and the same tool downloads the box art. Essentially everything looks the same - you just have more games. Check reddit for super easy to follow tutorials.

Having played on the mini, i'm not going back to emulating on the PC. There's something just better about the experience.

Wouldn't it be cool if all the manufacturers created mini versions similar to this? :)
Nothing beats the real thing for sure.

On another note...

I wonder how long it will take someone (who obviously owns every single one of the games) to upgrade the onboard storage and have a fully fledged all in one SNES system.

Not too long i'm sure. Whether you want them all is another thing - unless you like scrolling through loads of guff to get to the good games!

So many great games to add to mine. I had most of them when I had my SNES originally.

Pop N Twinbee (I remember paying £9.99 for this in Electronics Boutique)
Zombies Ate My Neighbours
Micro Machines 2
Desert Strike
Jungle strike
NBA Jam
Mortal Kombat 2
Sim City
Barkley Shut up and Jam
Earthworm Jim 2
Krusty's Funhouse
Super R-Type

Pop N TwinBee is a legendary game, i loved that game so much, i am going to load it up on my pi tonight

i really want to load up my mini snes as the experience feels much nicer than pc or pi emulation

i have 2 as i was worried that very wouldn't have stock, i was going to sell one on but i might just keep both, one stock and one fully loaded

I was disappointed with the music of Desert Strike on the SNES mini compared to the music of the Megadrive version.

Looked into getting one of these for a family member for Christmas. Called my local indie store (Games Centre) and was told they have none in stock, try nearer Christmas time. The woman on the phone said they were trying to get 20 units per store (they have 8 stores, so 160 units), but she said Nintendo aren't allowing it.

I don't think i'll bother getting this if it's too much of a hassle. Likewise, same old Nintendo, same BS you put up with them, same incompetent company they've always been.

No wonder i never buy their systems for personal use.

Just ordered one and should get it tonight. It says it doesn't include a plug adapter, I guess any USB plug will work?

I don't think units are being held back purposly
