Snow causing you any driving problems?

Just tried to get into the office. I got stuck on the way in:

Have done, the wheels just spin up. The front bumper is stuck in the snow, and I can't get it back up the drive.

Move the snow out of infront of the bumper. Set off in 2nd gear and be smooth.

I've driven to work sideways this morning.

And me. If you provoke it then lifting off gets it back in line,

Although my drive to work is quiet country lanes so loads of snow. I did get into the work carpark and have now abandoned my car cause it got stuck. Doh

Cleared the snow, and it still didn't work. Poured lots of hot water under the wheels though, and the car is now back on the drive \o/.

Might start digging a track in the road so I can get free now.

Well, I had some fun...

Luckily the main roads weren't too bad - bit slushy I guess, but so long as you stayed in the tramlines you were OK. The side roads were as to be expected - blummin ice rink, and it made for a difficult drive. I rarely got over 5-10mph in 2nd gear without lighting the tyres. I'm glad I didn't have any ABS or electronic stuff getting in the way though, made it a bit easier to stop. :)

But in general, a lightweight car with wide summer tyres and good throttle response made for some moments where the tyres lit up far too easily in virtually any gear. :o

A little bit slippery on the minor roads but nothing that high gears, and gentle throttle and clutch control can't handle, the main roads are fine - I just hope the slush doesn't turn into ice tonight. It's quite a bit more fun with RWD and an LSD - but if you're smooth and gentle you don't really have too many problems. Don't have TC but ABS didn't even kick in so the roads can't be that bad.

None whatsoever...After the reports on the news last night I was ready to hunker down for the rest of the week & 'work' from home

Get up & it's raining :( Bugga.

Im glad we dont all live in canada or somewhere :D bit of snow and everyone is bricking it!

the only hazard when i go to work later, is our road. its uphill and never gritted :D ah well.

Last time I went to Toronto, there were silly amounts of cars stacked up at the side of the road in the snow. They don't seem to be able to cope with it any better than we can.

Got called out earlier for an alarm and was annoying getting stuck behind people doing 20mph in a 60 where the snow had melted and was just wet with a bit of slush at the side of the road. Luckily the roads were pretty empty so didn't come up against many people like this.

You'd rather people drove faster than they were comfortable with, bearing in mind the ice/snow/slush?
I'd rather take my time.
