So, anyone got an iRobot Roomba or other robot vacuum cleaner?

Does anyone here own the Xiaomi v2? Any thoughts?
Also, does anyone have experience of claiming on the warranty?

I can see that the sellers offer up to 3 years warranty, but they ship parts for you to install. I’m very interested in buying one of these, and I have lots of hard flooring, so the mopping function could be quite handy.

I’m just a little concerned about buying something this expensive from AliExpress and what happens if it stops working after a year or two.

I’ve just ordered the Roborock S51 (rose gold v2) from AliExpress, can’t wait to get it. I’ve wanted one of these for years, I’ll post up a review if anyone is interested.

Just got the original Xiaomi Robot Vacs. Only ran it twice, once supervised to see how it works then I left it to do my upstairs while I was at work. Looks like it managed to avoid falling down the stairs. I'll see how it got on when I get home but early indications are that it's brilliant! What mode do you tend to run it on? I've ran it on Turbo both rimes its been used. Should I be using the Max setting?

Mine runs on Turbo and seems fine on that...

The unit does do a good job, with the downsides being it doesn't get right up to edges well, and bar stools (with the sloping bottoms) are not handled well.

If they could just add the clever goto zone cleaning (to the Version 1) using the app which is supported by the Version 2, that would be great!

I set mine to "Max" and that does the job just fine. I still think it is one of the best household purchases I ever made. :D

It is great... I would be tempted to buy the newer version just to be able to tell it where to go and what to clean. ie: Draw a square in the kitchen and tell it to go and clean it.

Can any of these be left alone to clean multiple rooms which are separated by open doors?
My Xiaomi happily does my entire downstairs, and then goes back under the kids sofa to recharge. It even goes up a 2cm ramp from the hall into the kitchen.

In truth the only issue would be very long pile (string) rugs. Or, the nemesis to all these units, bar stools with the circular round/ramp bottoms :)

Thanks, will take a look :).

Left mine to clean upstairs yesterday which it did without any problems.

Today I put it downstairs to clean there. It was nearly finished when I got a message saying the wheel was stuck. I moved everything I could think of so dreading what I'll be going home to. Hopefully it's just stuck under the sideboard or on a cable there. It's went to sleep there waiting on me getting home!

If it's not a cable, it will probably be a cupboard of just the wrong height it's got wedged under, or something like a pair of chairs at just the wrong distance so it's squeezed into them, but can get out.

Your app (on you phone) should show you where in the house it is right now, so might answer your question. eg: Under a dining room table.

Yeah I know it's at the sideboard in the lounge. So it's either got hooked on a cable under there or gotten wedged under the sideboard. If it's the latter, how do I stop that happening?

If your sideboard is literally the perfect height for it to get wedged under? That would be unfortunate. Guess the only way to stop it would be to put somethign under it, across it, perminantly or just when you do a clean?

Guess go home and see first...

Tidy up the cable and/or raise the sideboard. it ain't rocket science. :p
