So are the M5/M6 identical?

I see your point, but if they're so worried about it then why do so many people go out and buy them brand new? There are hundreds of used M5s up for sale.
Because they did not expect them to depreciate like they did, and they got out of them quickly when they did, which is why there are loads on the market..

BMW were offering £10K of new M6's for the very reason they were loosing lots of money very quickly. I am not surmising Tommy, like you seem to be, I am speaking from experience and knowing a load of people who were taken by surprise. Its a concern mate, thems the facts no matter what your perception may be.

I don't think women get cars. Or at least the majority don't. For them it's just a tool to get you from A to B.

I've convinced one of my female friends that she likes Astons and Lambos and should ever be able to afford one and I can't, she's going to take me to the Nurburgring in it \o/

In the words of my girlfriends best friend,re what cars men drive - "If they haven't got a BM, they don't stand a chance!" :D

I got to know her (my girlfriend) by spending time with her brother, who's a good mate of mine.

She noticed my car before me, I reckon. :D

Edit: On showing her this post, she's agreeing with it! :o :D

OT: How do cars actually work as girl magnets anyway? The only time a girl who hasn't previously known me will see my car is either when I leave somewhere, or if I drop it into conversation.

And dropping what you drive into a conversation with girls is the most un-cool thing ever. Most of them don't give a stuff.
Turn up to a party in a nice car, someone will notice, word will spread at said party, soon your naked with 3 naked chicks who have all asked to have a ride in your car the next morning thinking that there guna be the ones waking up with you in the morning. (reference the picture you asked me about on MSN)

It works best at this age and at uni because people don't have experiance with fast cars because students just don't have the money for nice things, as such, to young people a fairly normal sporty car to us is a hugely new thing and people want to get the chance to experiance it.

I worked hard for my nice car and its paid off wonderfully. I think having a nice car and not living with the parents helps on this front as well.

I'm trying my best. The girlfriend will text me with 'I just saw a 530d'.

It's worrying I find that cool :(

Ahh, I must be a step up. Mine now knows what the letters and numbers mean and can even remember VVTi and CDTi with reasonable accuracy.

But when the new Audi TT drove past us the other day with its spoiler up which then suddenly dissappeared when slowing in traffic she was like

That was a whole different conversation that time ;)

I predict the current 6 series will be totally unloved when it gets older. They won't be able to give them away at 10 years old, with their lardy styling and huge engines.

Audi TT doesn't have a spoiler...

I think you will find that is just uni life. A good mate of mine albeit a bit chavy at uni did 3 birds at once and they were much prettier than the ones in your picture ;) He does not have a penny to his name.

You have to admit though, the old design was so much nicer. Especially the M3.

Saying that I don't mind the new M3s design as much.

I'd opt for an M6 if I had a choice between M5/M6.

I seem to remember that the M6 is quite a bit lighter than the M5, so there's at least one significant difference.
Having said that, it's still too heavy to really present a challenge to say a 911, and it's so expensive that it's into Aston territory. Regardless of how good it is, I think that if I were looking for a GT, then it would probably be an Aston or an XK, which does appear to be something of a bargain when compared.

Pfft, im not saying a car alone got me girls and I too do not have a penny to my name (well, barely), and im not claiming to have done all of them at once! I'm just demonstrating how a car works in that sense.

Fair play to your mate though

M6 = Blonde womans car

that's why I'm going with an M5, come on the M6 is girly as hell.
M5 just looks evil, like it'd expell a pair of teeth if you ever hit an elephant and eat through it. So nice.

So which car is said to actually perform better?

I think the M6 looks much cooler but that's not to say it's the better car.

That really just does it for me. Almost as nice as the 911 Turbo.

Sorry fugly as hell and how you can even compare it to a Porsche 911 turbo is beyond me. The 911 turbo is pure sex on wheels, the M6 looks like a fat ugly sister tbh:p.

M5 definitely for the win looks wise, one mean looking car from the front.
