Exactly same motherboard mine did the same thing it would light up the RGB on the left hand side and do nothing... got my mates powersupply powered straight up. so ordered a new PSU been fine ever since and like i said was a brand new EVGA gold 80 rated powersupply which was faulty was sealed as well.
 
I know your reluctant but it would be better to get overclockers to build it.

Been a while, I've ordered my pre-built pc but OCUK have just come back saying that the GPU is at the end of its life and isn't being manufactured anymore. Any idea on what a comparable GPU would be?
