So did anyone buy the Dell 24in ST2410?

Going to buy myself a new PC next month and looking for a new screen for it, but I'm torn between splashing out on a nice IPS monitor, or saving a load of cash for a TN panel like this dell.

Wish I could just take a look at them, stupid online shopping :D
 
Buy it if u dont like it send it back with the distance selling act (7 days) tho i think it has to be unopened and unused but if ur careful and pack it right they might not know. Or just sell in mm, if u get the 155 quid one u can make a profit when price goes back up as they will go back on sale for 200 ish like all other retailers. Hmm... That is a nice idea actually hehe.
 
Ordered one, found out there would be a delay so cancelled.

Going to go for the Acer 3d 120Hz model instead. Sure its more expensive but 120hz :eek:
 
Woohoo, dell just rang me and said its coming tuesday 26th jan. Still a bit of a wait but not longer as i feared. :)

So the delay isnt +3 weeks its total from order to delivery is 1 week and a day. :)

Tho they say its been shipped today it will take 4 days to get here, why wasnt next day delivery used like most places i wonder?

Oh i love space how did u know lol. Wicked wallpaper will defo use that when i get it cheers.

Btw how is dark games. As i hate my crts i had for dark games where i had to turn gamma up to see stuff cos screen was too dark and im guessing my mons couldnt show it well i.e black to dark greys properly or somit or other.
 
K. Well i guess ill find out.

Btw i plan on a unboxing and bit of a chat about the monitor with my digi cam, quality wont be very good im afraid but least we get somit on utube for this monitor. As was disappointed of barely owt on em there.

Wish a fellow ocuker had one of them hardware calabration thingies i could borrow if near sunderland.
 
Hi, has anyone at all received a a panel with any dead pixels?

It does seem like much less of a problem these days, they seemed all too common on the old 17" TFT's.

Also, how adjustable is the backlight? Is it LED backlit? I really need a screen that can go quite dark,I find it's easier on the eyes.

Finally, is the stand height adjustable like on the 2405?

just ordered one of these + soundbar (I use headphones normally so easier to plug into monitor than back of pc lol)

soundbar was only 11 quid aswell, bargain 170 all in :D
 
I just ordered one of these, and a half priced sound-bar, I wouldn't normally touch a TN monitor with a bargepole, but it's so well priced for what it is I don't have much to lose really. I was after a 24" monitor with a DVI and an HDMI port so I thought I'd give this a go at the bargain basement price :)

I expect I will think it's crap though and either send it back or sell it on, I've been using IPS displays for years, but we'll see, I will give it a fair chance. Fact is, to get a display that fits my criteria with an IPS panel, I'd be paying 3 times this much.
