. So far I've been looking at 58 Mondeo Titanium 2.0TDCi with Nav for £11,000.
Well to be honest I'm thinking of a change of car anyway now. The cars losing its appeal and all the problems are getting on my nerves. Once I get a refund on the full stage 2 I'll be looking at new cars. I've been offered a trade value of £10,500 at various dealers. So far I've been looking at 58 Mondeo Titanium 2.0TDCi with Nav for £11,000.
Excuse me, let me get this straight.
You take your car to a Tuner with a dodgy history against the advice of a few people, said tuner does a truly awful job with the Remap, causing you to pop a sensor. You take it back, they change the sensor, it goes pop again. You do this a few more times before finally admitting it is time for a refund, but instead of blaming the tuners who obviously screwed up, you blame the car? The car that was perfectly fine before you let them loose on it?
And then you say you want a Diesel Mondeo
Epic thread.
Umm no one here has any experience with TMS and only passing on horror stories they have heard. For every one horror story I've read I know of 10 very happy TMS customers. There is a fault with my car that was most likely there before it was mapped and the map just amplified the fault. I'm willing to bet any stage 2 map will cause the same fault.
There isn't a decent tuner for miles around my area and when it works it was brilliant so I was hesitant to remove it and I'd rather just get it sorted.
As for the new car idea, its something me and my girlfriend have been considering for a while to run along side the VXR. Now I've been having these issues as well as a fair few others not mentioned here I'm starting to fall out of love with it. So the new car would need 5 doors and a decent boot.
I think the problem is (My Brother went through the whole TMS remap thing), is that they tend to oversell their products, which usually aren't that good..
For example, I think it's common knowledge that their remaps are just a superchip remap, they don't change 'enough' in the ECU to get around emissions issues, and hence misbehave more often then not..
I know, for example, the VXR Performance Centre (like Courteney) take your existing map, and send it off via E-Mail to get a more agressive map with changes to the emissions code to suit..
My Brother had his Zaf Mapped with a TMS remap, and wasn't happy, unreliable boost etc, he got a refund, and went to the VXR place, and it was much better. From the price they charge, they should (Courteney seem to do this according to Mr LOL in this thread) RR the car, then remap it just for your car.. ensuring max gains with consistency..
because i suspect the average IQ of the forums is <100[TW]Fox;15560007 said:I get a lot of crap on here for being judgemental but why is there always loads of WTF in your average ocuk thread?
well just over a month ago you were "So excited..." to get a few extra ponies into your VXR. This goes not quite to plan proably due to tuners and suddenly your sick of performance cars and want mondeo.
That is a faliure of phate proporations.
Um no, nowhere did I mention that I'm sick of performance cars, I said I'm sick of the VXR as I also have other issues with it not related to the map. I also never said I was purchasing a Mondeo I simply said that it was something I was looking at.
