So - is the 4850 faster than an 8800gts?

Their competition were releasing a new card so they released one too? Why shouldn't they?

I have used countless P35 mobo's and as the P45 is a tweaked version of the P35 with added features they would hardly not improve a chipset.


Gigabyte mobos include X38 DQ6,P35 DS3

Also reviews have the P45 being more overclockable and cooler than the P35 mobo's.

So I would have a think before you start saying that gigabyte P45 mobos are rubbish!

Think I'll be "upgrading" to a 4850 from my 512MB GTS. Probably not a good upgrade or but I should get about £100 for my card, so £25 extra for the bonus in performance especially with AA is I think worth it.

i've got a Gigabyte P35 board that works FLAWLESSLY

Where are the benchmarks for the gigabyte p45 boards because i havn't seen any and i have been waiting for the ds5 to come out. I can't find anyone that can give me a time for having giga boards in stock much less being able to buy one. I don't mean that dq6 review either because i have seen that and i think the board is dodgy as well.

Remember if you're prepared to plump for second hand, GX2's can be picked up fairly cheap now. I got one the other day for 235. Cheapest pair of 4850s is around £280 also GX2 has a good lead over the 4850s.

I only did this though as I didn't want a change of motherboard for the 4850's in Crossfire.

I have a P5B Deluxe which doesn't like crossfire.
