If I wear my shoes I normally wear I will look like a tool, if I wear my uniform I will look like a tool. I would rather not look like a tool.

And I work on checkouts so no chance of anything dropping onto my feet or anything like that.

So who's going to see your shoes?

Wow!

Three pages of people missing the point, which is that they don't allow trainers but will allow women to wear stupid shoes.
The ability of people to read in this thread is shocking, well done!
I wouldn't do it myself, although I would question why (genuinely curious).

Edit: Those calling him childish should maybe consider how wrong that was.
It's not like you've never stood up to "PC" situations before, is it?

Nope, that was not the point. A pair of women shoe with holes in is neither stupid or trainers.

He's stamping his feet and risking a disciplinary for being stupid.

How wrong what is? and what is "pc" about it?
It's company image and dress code (even on a non uniform day). A non uniform day does not mean you can wear what ever you like.
If women where allowed to wear trainers then he would have point.

So should be an interesting day, most of the managers are ****ers so I'll have a good time ranting if any of them say anything.

We shall see what happens. Wish me luck. :)

Is this the point where we are all supposed to say "Good on you! Fight the power!"?

What exactly is the problem? are you just being a ****** for the sake of it? If your other shoes are not suitable then just bloody say so and go and buy some new ones, don't turn this into some "I'm gonna wear what I like" childish tantrum with the only justification being "THEY DID IT FIRST!"

Edit: Jesus I just checked, you 20 years old ffs.

when i was at tesco's working nights we wasn't allowed dress down days due to be opening 24hours and the shift going into the next day. Also why are you not allowed trainers at work?, at our superstore as long as you have Black footwear then trainers are allowed anytime.

No not really, because she just gives me jobs to do that require no effort at all.

Looking like a tool is part of the job. Large companies like to give their customers something to laugh at and choose staff uniforms on that basis. Amusing customers helps sales.

Maybe I'm a little cynical this morning :)

I don't see anything wrong with wearing them to work, your jeans or whatever will easily hide any detail, and they don't stick out as trainers.

It's not as if it's a **** off colourway or something

I have size 14 feet, too... yay! Buying shoes sucks ass, I'm basically forced to wear clown shoes (Converses)... do you buy shoes from Walktall?

Most nike court shoes ie the Court trad's Azza has and Air forces and dunks are available up to like size 17 and look a hell of a lot better than converse, and easier to clean to boot

And of course classics like air jordans, but then again you'd be looking at ridiculous prices for them, cause the size 12 jordans I got were £90 :/
