So, the Championship season has started **Spoilers**

Good game. I enjoyed that. We weren't brilliant, but didn't need to be. Dunk was motm for me.

Just like the last game against Leeds, Cook stood out as their best player by a mile.

There's some nice talent coming through, it's great to see U21's in first teams, even if Leeds are naff, at least Cook's going to become something :p

Just seen the team line ups. Bloody hell, he's playing Nugent and Rhodes together from the start! Same formation, but still!

So, he shoe horned players :p?
He plays the same system, just puts one player in for another. It's weird.

Besides, we always play crap when we're top 2. Almost everytime last season we'd quickly drop off as soon as we got there.

Well that was a pleasant unexpected result. quite a good couple of games lately. Crawling towards midtable

Wednesday should have picked up three points tonight, still a point and a reasonably solid performance after a poor couple of games is a positive.

Doesn't look good . karankas right in everything he said but maybe shouldn't have said it in public

Still think downing is the poison thts helpe create this. The hissy fit he threw when subbed off a few weeks ago was embarrassing. He's only performed for 45 min all season

My mates a die hard Boro fan, season ticket holder for about 10 years and I must admit to a little enjoyment at the moment after how much stuck he was giving earlier in the year.

I think dropping off a bit may help as the focus will be off and the pressure being top brings.

M'boro are overrated and play defensive, dull football. However Karanka is a disciple of 'the Special One', so it is not surprising that he does not understand how to play attacking football.

I think that style of football would better suit a club struggling towards the bottom end of the table to be honest :o. I was absolutely shot down earlier in this thread for saying this.

I've got a M'boro supporting 'acquaintance' and he absolutely loves Downing, despite him being total **** so far. I think Karanka is basically correct, but the style of play does not help.

This time of the year, although a massive cliché, clubs and players are fighting for their status/position in the league to either avoid relegation or crack the top 6/automatic promotion. Karanka should be able to challenge his players to 'up' their performance to get over the final hurdle.

Hull and Burnley look good though.

I don't want Karanka to leave, but if he disappeared till end of season so someone could play better attacking football, I'd be great with that. I just don't think he knows how to make best use of the attacking players we have.

No one can deny the squad he's built, or the stability he's brought.

But he's also got faults, but those faults wouldn't be as apparent in the PL with us, as his style of play is more suited there.

That said, you also can't deny with what he's said. Regardless of his style of play, the squad we have should have been winning the games that we've dropped points in.
I still don't understand why other teams are bitter when it comes to Boro though :p

I would agree in part with that, I certainly think it is obvious he is a disciple of "The Special One", certainly with his man management and style of football (defensive).

The squad is certainly good, but M'boro are hardly cash strapped either.

I agree with the sentiment of his comments; the squad is capable of more - but how much of that is down to his defensive tactics?

Also; it is not bitterness on my part, it is more frustration. M'boro are better than they have been playing, certainly in terms of their attacking style, and it is frustrating to see negative football when the team are capable of more.

Forestieri back today for the Blue and White Wizards :D.

I still think the side lacks balance without Hutchinson in midfield, but Forestieri being back in the starting line up is excellent .
