ffs!
Karanka's done some brilliant things, but for 20M we've spent on strikers, the result of that is abysmal.
ffs!
You're playing us, you really don't need to worry.
could hardly drop nugent after he scored
and wasn't going to change the whole system he turned us around with for the last 2 years overnight...
the players he put out should easily be beating mk dons !
absolutely loved that he criticised the referee for 'being forty yards away' and unable to see properly whereas he could see just find from even further away .
Yeah, bit hypocritical from Smith there. Didn't think it was a nailed on red card, as Hooper had lost control of the ball and wouldn't have been able to get a shot away/the ball had rolled through to Button. Either, way I can see why it was given but to be fair to Smith, the ref has to be absolutely sure of it as he was 50 yards away and the linesman 20 yards away didn't give it.
I didn't make it yesterday, but sounds like we were well beaten and stopped defending properly after the 10th minute. We've now conceded 8 without reply and our three strikers have scored once in the last 2 months combined!
I sort of see where you are coming from, although I think this was a text book red card , my biggest gripe is not with the decision making of the referee though. Why did your defender not just attempt to keep pace and allow your goalkeeper to come out? The decision making of the defender was terrible. I sort of think it is largely irrelevant if Hooper was in total control of the ball or not, he was denied the change of having the shot one on one with the goalkeeper.
Also; don't be too negative, you were competitive for a good fifteen minute spell after the red card and created a couple of good chances, however when the second goal went in you could see what little confidence they had just drain away. Although I would not expect many sides to cope well with having a man sent off after 5 minutes at our place this season, for a change we are excellent at home. I was impressed and complimentary of Brentford last season when they played Wednesday, they looked worse this season (granted with the conditions) but still a good side and did look it as the game kicked off, of those first five minutes Brentford were very attacking and looked sharp.
As I said, despite this your number 15 and 28 looked good throughout (until one was subbed off).
Ayala, Gibson and Clayton missing now. Eek. Rhodes got pretty much nothing in terms of service as expected.
