So, the Championship season has started **Spoilers**

We're promoted, but it was still 1-1 at home to a 10 men Brighton. It's not exactly a spectacular result lol.

4th official recommended straight red, the ref pulled the wrong card out and changed it when he saw which card was pulled out. Was confirmed by sky reporter that it was always going to be a straight red.

Is there any punishment when a supporting staff member tries to interfere with the game? Like a suspension for them? Interesting precedent otherwise.

Probably get fined. Wasnt acceptable like even though he didnt actually achieve anything . He's a mad man anyway. Sort of guy that would be a serial killer if he wasn't a goalkeeper coach

Good luck to Brighton in playoffs!

Bloody hell that was intense... good luck to Brighton in the play offs, you deserve it tbh and congrats to Burnley for being champs!

What a season!

That red ruined it - Dean even go a yellow card out then changed his mind because he saw the injury.

Surely being injured doesn't change a tackle...

Oh well.

It was the timing of the red that killed us. Equalise and then red card a few minutes later. No chance to capitalise on the goal.

Nothing went for us today. Poor sending off(never a red...but then you should know my philosophy on fouls and red cards by now). Just a bad game. What really ****es me off is that he had his yellow card out, Boro player knocks them out of his hand, then he sees a bit of blood and suddenly it is a red. No problems with the player of course, it looked like a nasty injury but it was purely just unlucky.

Anyway, we still have the playoffs!

Well that was a good day..

To any fans in the playoffs, good luck. After going through them last year I know how heartbreaking they can be. :(

Almost as bad as getting through them only to be too rubbish to score against 10 men then Bobby Zamora scoring against us in extra time.

Does anyone know what the deal with Joey Barton and his Championship medal is?

As far as I can tell, the football league sent 25 medals to Burnley, but Burnley invited 27 players to collect a medal, the 1st 25 to turn up got a medal but Barton and another player arrived last so didn't get one.

What are the requirements to get a Championship medal? In the Premiership you need to have played 5 games (used to be 10) to get a medal. But even so the most medals ever handed out was 24 to Man United in 2012/13 (at least according to wikipedia).

How many players have Burnley used this season? They seamed to have a fairly settled squad with 15 or 16 'regulars'.

Have random youth teamers who have never played a game in the Championship snagged a medal?

To be honest I'm not a fan of Barton in the slightest but seems pretty harsh, especially since he was in the Championship Team of the Seaon

You seem to know more than I do about it, are there any Burnley fans in here who can answer?

It is harsh but he wasn't singled out not to receive one, sounds like he just happened to be there later. It's a bit of a slap in the face to him though, why would anyone be collecting a medal before the first squad regulars anyway?

For me you should get a medal even if you've only played one minute of the season, you've still contributed.

I've actually just read on the BBC that he has actually been given a medal now.

Though Burnley have apparently stated that all 27 will keep their medals, which makes me think players who didn't played a minute of Championship football this season have waltzed off with one.

Edit: I've been looking at the stats and Burnley had 25 players who either started or came on as a sub in the Championship this season (who in my opinion are the only players who should receive a medal).

Jelle Vossen and Marvin Sordell both left the club last August so wont have received a medal, leaving 23 players.

You can't really make an argument for back up keepers seeing as Gilks joined in 2014 and has never played a game in the league for Burnley and neither has Paul Robinson who joined in January.

But even is you decide to include those it's 25. Who are the other 2 who could have picked up a medal?

Stephens red card appeal rejected, and not being reduced to a lesser ban.

FA are a joke, not willing to admit they made an error in the most expensive game in football!

Anybody who thought it would be recinded is deluded!

They probably don't even look at the incidents. Just back the ref, and occasionally throw in one that they actually do have a proper look at

Player with both feet off the ground, out of control of his momentum, leading with his studs. Whats to rescinded? The fact they even reviewed is the joke.
