So, the Championship season has started **Spoilers**

Cannot remember if I posted about the Sheffield Wednesday vs Brighton Hove Albion match; but I'll give my thoughts (even if it's a while afterwards).

I cannot say I was impressed by Brighton, not because they're a bad side, but because I do not feel they have improved on last season which was when they proved they were a good side. They were organised, defensive, physical, pressed high/hard, used the ball well, all of which I knew going in to this.

I expected more from a Wednesday side, who I feel have not progressed as I expected. Brighton were the better side, but it was more a case of Wednesday allowing them to be. Wednesday lacked the organisation, pressing, pace, tempo, physicality, and failed to use the ball well enough at all.

While Wednesday have picked up results recently, I would argue that they have rarely deserved to get more than a point. The form and performances have been poor to average (at best) and the players look unorganised.

I literally cannot fathom why Wednesday keep trying to play four, four, two. Why players who's form is poor remain in the squad. I don't understand.

Wednesday are still in a decent place in the league, and I believe the club can turn it round, we have an excellent squad with some real quality but it has been poor football for a few matches now. I'm not expecting anything radical; but playing a system which suits the players we have and not picking players who are under performing would be a start.

Brighton deserved the win, but in reality Wednesday deserved to lose.

Little has changed in my mind about Brighton, they are a good team, they've not improved hugely on last season, but then again I would argue that they did not need to. They would have been one of my tips for promotion this season.

My only criticism is that they do what Middlesbrough did (except Brighton play better football in doing so), which is to grind out results. The main difference is that more often than not, Brighton play tidy, decent football. I think this Brighton side are better than 'grinding out a result', I think that there are quite a few teams in this league that Brighton would absolutely ruin if they wanted to.

Also; Bruce (in my opinion) is an excellent coach at this level and has proven it with different clubs on different occasions.

The absolutely **** storm that is Aston Villa could be calmed with his appointment; I mean, it has the potential to carry on though but I would be surprised. Bruce gets it right on the pitch (looking at Hull last season).

Cardiff should be fine with Colin / Neil at the helm, I'm loathed to say it but he's a good manager. Tribal nature aside, he really is a good manager and a decent man to boot (bumped in to him once).

Loving the McClaren returning to Derby.

Oh that is not the problem. We want to alright, we just didn't get a striker!...It was far more important for us to keep key players in the window than to get new ones tbh, as our squad was very good, so long as we got a striker, as Hemed and Baldock are average at best, and will get maybe 12-15 goals between them if they are lucky. Glenn Murray is proven, but can't do it on his own. With a decent striker we would score many more goals.

I do think we have the best defensive pair in the league now. Dunk is on another level now he has cut out silly mistakes and Duffy looks like a good signing. That leaves Goldosn on the bench who is quality too. Midfield is quality when we have Stephens and Kayal playing, with Knockaert of course the main man. It is just up front we are lacking. I couldn't believe we beat Wednesday without our central midfield, as usually when either of them don't play we lose(and Sidwell has been poor recently).

I'm confident of the team, but I don't think we will score enough goals unless we make a good signing in January.

Oh and yeah, watch Villa keep on rising up the table now they have Bruce in charge. He knows how to get it done in this league. Cardiff I'm not so sure about. I do rate Warnock, I just don't think Cardiff have a good team.

Already know tonight's script:

0-0 HT
VIlla score after 54 mins (McCormack finally does something)
1-1 from a scruffy goal after 84 mins
Cling on for a point
1-1 FT

Newcastle are going to walk it. Norwich blown a 2 goal lead away at Fulham.

Crazy league but yes do reckon it's Newcastle's to lose.

Leeds really need to get back in form, kill games off at 1-0 and stop conceding stupid goals from set pieces. Terrible defending for the Wigan equaliser today.

Looks like we got lucky today. Very good away win but it looked like Wigan scored to me, but it wasn't given.

Our defence is very strong this season. We are pretty good going forward too just don't score enough!
