Good win for the Owls today.
Hudderbore were absolutely hilariously poor in the first half, death by boring the opposition. 'Keep the ball' screamed Wagner constantly, time wasting, passing side to side in defence, and the inevitable long diagonal ball over our full back. Wednesday were poor in the first half, but only because Wednesday were more concerned about what Huddersbore were doing, than attacking them.
Second half was a totally different story, Fletcher off (who has, imho, been an incredibly underwhelming signing) and Winall on. Higher tempo and Huddersbore transformed in to Huddersmoan, as per, when they did not get their own way.
Wagner's outrage and moans over Wednesday's second goal being 'offside' were hilarious, Huddersfield had a player on the line, obviously his glasses are not working. Nor was a vicious tackle from behind after losing the ball a red card apparently.
Funny seeing some urgency creep in to the Huddersfield team at this point, more long balls over our defence, more desperate lumps forwards, their defence making mistakes. Their side were incredibly well organised, but showed almost no ambition in the first half. Second half their confidence visibly drained away and suddenly a side who had no intention of doing anything than long diagonal balls and possession found themselves having to try and attack.
Boring. Dull. Have absolutely no idea, why Huddersfield are in the position they are in. Baffling that a side that average can be so high in the table.
Seasons go by and some things in football change, some things do not. Huddersfield moaning constantly and their time wasting football do not.
Wednesday were excellent in the second half, much better than recent performances too.
Also; Derby are hilariously poor.
