So.... Travellers have ended up in our carpark!

would recommend making their live hell like starting the day at 5 am with sounds of horns etc
do u have morning shift if so tell them to make as much noise as possible, ****** dont like morning sunshine.

The problem with doing that is that it might cause more issues than it solves. Obviously you get a few unsavoury characters from travelling families. Besides asking them reasonably to leave, there's not a lot you can do. Bloody disgusting the police won't get involved.

Happened to a few places I worked at. Get ready for their toilets being emptied, hardcore dumped and the nearby street lights going off when they try hooking up their tv's :(

Unlucky, the bigger problem is when they leave. A local school near me was left with damage and clean up costs worth £15,000 when they moved in on their sports field.

Is there such a thing of Gypsy insurance?

i know of a group of farmers that moved a load on in the middle of the nigh by tying the caravans together to the back of a tractor...

Just get stink bombs or find a smelly chemical you can get loads of then spread it about. They move on and you can wash it away.

No, and we're an Insurance Broker lol

Reading up, it seems that if we ask them to leave and they don't, because they have more than six vehicles, the police should be involved, civil matter or not.

Three caravans spent about a week on the side road outside of my work. I think the road must be private hence the fact they couldn't be moved on.

I opened up a few mornings whilst they were there so I smashed the gates as hard as I could to wake em up :p

We even caught one of their kids doing a turd on the street?

Just remember: That won't be dog **** you might just tread in on the way to work in the morning. ;)

You want to try living in Shropshire!

The Gypos.. or 'Travellers' as you call them, often appear up at the Midway Truckstop near Prees Heath. They will stay on the carpark for weeks until the council somehow manage to move them on, they usualy leave behind all manner of carp which then has to be cleaned up

They also sometimes manage to get onto the land at Tilstock air strip, Dad once told me of a rumour of how the gypos had upset a local man back in the olde' days by stealing from him. His response? to drive amongst the caravans at some obscene time in the morning letting his shotgun off  , the bugger then drove up to Calverhall where its a bit higher up and sat in his car watching the police racing off to assist the gypos.

Not sure if the story is true.. but its a good one IMO :D

Just in case...ignore any suggestions to take travellers on by force - these people generally have no morals and will win if you try to take them on this way.

This happened to an office near us a few years back - first thing the landlords did was buy an old knackered motor and used it to block the entrance. They employed 24 hour security guards (including an ex-ghurka  ) who pushed the car out of the way if any employee wanted access to the site or if a traveller wanted to leave - I'm told they managed to turn back quite a few other travellers who wanted to camp there.

Sad to say but until this government and the general public at large grow some balls and are prepared to say that we don't want these people in our country (like Ireland did) then there's nothing you can really do except play it by the book :(

Oh dear :/

Absolutely. When you don't play it by the book against people who have less to lose than you then there's generally only one winner.

So I guess you have to hire a private security company to turf em off then :S

if theyre anything like up ere then local security companys wont have anything to do with them !

our company had to pay the 'travellers' thousands of pounds to stop them stealing materials from the construction site :/

At least their not as bad as the one we had to deal with in Germany had to lie to my mate daughter why they stole her pet rabbit...
best idea is borrow the local farmers muck spreader, then it'll look like what it does after they leave.

Bass music playing all night in the office, they'll be gone in no time. Is it a residential area?
