So.... Travellers have ended up in our carpark!

There is nothing you can do.

If you are really lucky the council will turn up and build them a shower block just like they did when the ****** invaded a public dog walkers carpark on the banks of the River here in Plymouth.

Gypo's once made the mistake of setting up camp in West Bank, a "less salubrious" part of Widnes. They'd parked their caravans underneath a Victorian railway bridge over the Mersey, the span of which must have been approximately 80 ft off the ground at the point they'd chose to camp. Thus, all the local kids were climbing up on the bridge, then pounding them with bricks. :D They didn't stay long funnily enough.

Up here our council built them their own little 'Gypo Land' estate complete with kids play area

Another reason why I hate this country, you should be able to destroy someones property and force them off your land if they don't have permission to be there, just like in every other country, as much as I hate North Korea their legislation is certainly superior to the UK's in these matters, how embarassing for a 1st world country...

So, from what I can see, if I head over to the new half a million pound home that is nearing completion a few minutes from me, and move in there, nothing can be done to move me back out?

Sad to say but until this government and the general public at large grow some balls and are prepared to say that we don't want these people in our country (like Ireland did) then there's nothing you can really do except play it by the book :(

What did Ireland do?

No, you're a law-abiding, tax-paying member of society so you'll be carted off and have the full weight of the law used against you.

well im going to guess that the guy who owns the house will either come and move you by force or will pay for someone to move you

try doing that to lunatic gypsys though...

tbh.

It is outrageous. public land is one thing but someones poperty!

if someone parked on my drive and sat in their car it is ok?

I might find myself a nice spot on my MPs lawn.

although he will move to one of his other propertys... (expenses paid)

What did Ireland do?

Made trespass with an object (i.e. a caravan) a criminal offence and loads of other stuff like allowing the police confiscating caravans if they are parked on public roads, evictions with 24 hours notice etc. Thus encouraging the gypsies to leave Ireland for a more emasculated country i.e. the UK :(
