So what do you buy now?

I'll stick with my 980Ti for now, and maybe look at 1080Ti's, or even Vega, and I haven't owned an amd card since the days of x800's! I'd rather spend the money on a new 8700k, mobo, and ram, and still have change!

Kinda tempted by the mothership's 370 EUR 1070 offer...but I wanted more of a step up from a 970.

Maybe I'll just get AC Oddyssey on the PS4 and be done with it.

Or perhaps the 2060 or (not holding my breath) AMD will come to the rescue with a nice mid-range 1440p card in the 300-400 bracket that'll last a few years.

I buy 7nm.

Don't get the console trend though, it's not as though you won't be able to play high end games with a 1080ti suddenly...especially when you'll be dropping down to 30fps @4k with medium at best settings with the consoles.

Was waiting for this announcement to se the price movements before buying a new rig. Was hoping for the 1070-1080 prices to drop when these new 20xx cards slotted in but it doesnt look like that is going to happen. I'm a bit peeved at Nvidia's cheek at the current pricing model and am now thinking to vote with my wallet and buy a Vega instead (or a 580??) any thoughts?

I put aside £500, and I was determined to upgrade from my 290, now, I’m not sure.
A PS4 and a PSVR looks tempting.

Red Read Redemption 2, and Firewall Zero Hour for the PSVR..

£500 didn’t even get me NVIDIA’s XX70 card...

It’s a joke

buy a 1080ti from the MM when the Turing cards drop in September. You should get one for around that price.

Its scary people are actually buying them - You could buy a hell of a lot with £1400! A big TV, PS4 pro and an Xbox one X for that!

Im in the middle of building a PC and was holding out to see how much these cards would be, in the real world how much better can it be over a 1080ti?!

I had no plans to upgrade to Turing was always waiting for the 7nm cards to drop. Could have been tempted if the price was right, but, the price is so wrong!!

What I don't get is why people are saying they will leave PC gaming and go to consoles? It's not like their current cards can't play games anymore? The new cards might make some games look a little better but the game itself isn't going to be suddenly more fun to play?

I was adament i was going to upgrade from my 980 to the next Ti card for some ultra future proofing, but not at those prices, when the 10 series first came out the 1080 was in the 500-600 range, all of a sudden an extra £100+ has been thrown in, And the 2080Ti priced the same as the almighty Titan Xp, I'll hope some price drop comes in the future.

I’m not sure they will to be honest, a couple disappeared from the MM last night following NVIDIAS conference, and I keep reading rumours (I know I know..) that the RTX 20XX series isn’t actaully any better than the 10xx series, it just has the ray tracing.
But time will time
