so who mants the HDA x-plosion then? :D

Hello
Spent a while reading up on the dts.com website and am still no wiser as to whether my slightly old Creative Inpire Digital 5500 is going to do justice to this new card.
But seeing as DDTS-100 decoders are only about £60, perhaps I'll just to a cheap upgrade.
I notice that they've put the picture of the x-plosion on the hidiaudio website, but still no details.
And good news that a new 32-bit driver is out for the Mystique, so no probs swapping across machines if I get to upgrade.
Cheers
snedger

the latest 32-bit drivers for the mystique were quite pointless (6th of Jan). since installing them and using them, ive only noticed a few changes to the way things look, rather than it doing any good with the few little bugs there were before. when playing Halo with EAX and environmental sounds turned on it still clips the begenning or end or both of every sound and generally sounds crap. it still doesnt send a constant digital signal to my amp, so unless i use the work around still (turn on that magic voice thing) my amp will clip the begenning of every sound played while it decodes it, most annoying!

I managed to track down myself a Turtle Beach Montego card on a popular auction site this week for £41, thought it was probably the cheapest i'd find for a while :D

put it in pcm then! why are you running 5.1 in windows anyway?

cos from using soundstorm, ive kinda got used to listening to everything in 5.1 lol i like it that way now :)

anyway id rather set up the sound and then just leave it and not have to go back and change anything

Any details on pricing/approximate ETA? :)

Music will probably be better but gaming will be worse as it will lack EAX3+ which is the key benefit that the Creative Audigy/X-Fi range have over other cards.
