So who's preparing for winter this year?

Quite the opposite..... I will probably die.

Although I haven't actually seen the invoice yet I think they are going to come in at £140 for all four :D

Went to the skidpan last weekend, that's me prepared :D.

Had an advertising email from them this week (plugging skidpan courses as winter preparation) and they said we're forecast snow in October .

As I've got two sets of wheels for my car I'm tempted to get winter tyres for it. My size is 205/45/R16 and googling seemed to come up with Michelin Alpin A4, Goodyear UltraGrip Performance 2, Pirelli Winter Sottozero, Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3 all available in that size.
Thing is what I'd intend to do if I get Winter Tyres is put them on for a few months rather than just the one snowy day... and I then wouldn't like to feel that on a nice dry day during those months I couldn't drive as hard as if I'd kept the normal PE2/PS3 tyres on. Need to find a review comparing those four winter tyres really.

Sainsbury is a 5 min walk next to the train station and I have 5 bags of logs being delivered Sunday with one bag left from last year and access to work stuff from home, as last year I'll just sit it out and build snowmen with my kids and ride my snow bike, some serious mw3 is on the cards

I'm preparing by putting my car in the garage at the first sign of gritting...

and taking it out when we get to Spring.

I got hit by a gritter out gritting on the M6 around Stafford, 8am yesterday morning....

Must be getting some practice in for winter as it was a way off freezing!

Super strength screen wash, trigger spray de-icer, and some cloths. Got by last year so will be fine this year.

Bought these last year :

Enough to stop me getting stuck/get me home without the expense and hassle of finding somewhere to store a spare set of rims/tyres.

Just got 4 x Vred's for the Bimmer, but I did fine on the PS2's last year and had a great deal of fun in the snow.

I've already got a winter survival kit in my boot, ski jacket, wind up lamp, gloves etc. However I intend on just working from home more with new laptop etc.

:)

Feel more prepared now swapping from the BMW to the Audi, but still nervous because last year i couldn't care less about my mondeo, this year i'll be worried more haha. Might invest in some snow socks if i start to struggle!

Ordering winter tyres for the gf before long, she had an accident last winter and is really worried about the upcoming winter. She drives at 7am and 6pm to and from work, so getting them for piece of mind :)

Will also have to get a ton of salt for our parking area, looks like it will be an ice rink when the time comes

RenoRanes007, track tyres for the winter :D
