My A. versicolor moulted this week. Just thought I'd show you a pic because he is utterly gorgeous :) I'm so pleased with him. He's been beautiful ever since I got him as a 1" spiderling.

I'd have absolutely no qualms about holding that beast... It's a stuffed skin (honestly!) :p

However, I wouldn't want to hold my big girl (below left). I introduced a male (below right) into her tank on Monday evening... They spend the whole night drumming and following each other around. I came home on Tuesday night to find them doing the same.

Went for a shower and when I came back into my room, she had nailed him :( I removed him from the tank and put him in a cricket tub by the heatmat, but he didn't make it. I was incredibly upset, but it's quite common with pokies, since the males lack tibial spurs. My only hope is that she's now gravid.

As you can see, the male got quite a battering. She wouldn't leave him alone.

I don't know how many of you post on the Tarantula Store, but there is a meetup in Swindon at Phil Messengers house this Saturday. People are welcome to bring T's along to be sexed etc, and I'm picking up a few males. There will be some pretty knowledgeable people there and Phil has an impressive collection so it's well worth going if the journey isn't too far.

Mine's a Fuji A204, but that's been superceded now by the 3 series. I think Kate has a 303 that is much better, they've corrected nearly all the faults the 204 has ("whiting out" on closeups, takes too long to open, LCD too dark, too heavy, needs constant resetting to macro/timer mode) and it's about the same price so a far better buy.
 
Anyone having problems with easy exotics. I haven't placed an order from them for more than 3-4 months, i haven't pre-ordered anything or that yet on the 3rd november they charged me £21.48, i'm trying to get in touch but no one is picking up any of my mails, starting to get very irritated now :mad:

Check your statements, it's likely they didn't charge you at the time. I was eventually charged for crickets after about 2 or 3 months!
I don't know what's going on with Les at the moment, seems to be in a bit of a mess. :(

2 new arrivals at my house today - 2 Juvenile Cobalt Blues (Haplopelma lividum)

This is the larger of the 2 and she seems quite docile :eek:

Just to let you know, my email was answered! I was in a bit of a p*** about it because at the end of the day the 22 quid that went out of my account could have made me overdrawn!

After a chat with him on the phone though the charge was from a few orders spanning now to august this year!!!!

Apparently its just the way the payment system is working. He informed me that this would all be sorted in a couple of months as they're going over to a hsbc payment system! Hoorah!!
 
Just got back from the weekend meet at Phil Messengers and Ray Gabriels.
Wow, what a weekend! Came back with a few new additions, and managed to photograph the fabled Poecilotheria metallica - guys, these things are not overhyped, they are a truly stunning spider! I'll post up some shots tomorrow.

Ummm..... not including the 33 A. sternalis nymphs I picked up today, I think it's 39 including a male I have on loan :o
