Solar panel production figures

Solcast was predicting around 20 kWh today and if you asked me how close I'd get around lunchtime I'd have said no chance.

But it cleared up after 13:30 and the afternoon was pretty decent, wound up with 18.9 kWh of generation.

Imported 9.2, exported 12.7 (half of which was from 16:00 - 19:00). So another decent day in the end which should be slightly negative on the bill.

So far in the first 4 months of 2023, having solar has saved me £194. Thats in used energy from the sun and export to the grid....
not bad indeed and the next 4-5 months it should only get better...... i am really enjoying my panels (my wife thinks i am truly sad.... she has a point ;) ) The way i see it, if you have a compatible property that you are in for the long term and access to the cash, it has to be a consideration for anyone (almost a no brainer). The system will pay for itself eventually, it is helping the grid, esp if you have a battery and can smooth out your demand, its reducing your carbon footprint which can never be a bad thing - no tree hugging from me, i still have a massive carbon footprint, but like tescos says, every little helps........... and most of all, if you get into streamlining your energy use it is kind of fun to be honest..

we started off with insulation, then we got solar and battery....... next on the agenda is when we need to replace the cars getting EVs.. (basically starting with the cheap stuff and going more expensive!)

eventually the gas boiler will go.... but not in a rush for that, i am still not prepared to commit to any of the alternatives at the moment.. but that is for another thread on another day.

Slow day today, weather looks glorious here at work, but generally been 2kW or less for most of the day at home with the odd break in the cloud.
