Solar panel production figures

Realised today (Doh!) why my generation figures are so low until around lunchtime

Its the odd way that Solax displays "yield", which you assume means generation but its not, its usage.

So early in the day the battery discharge that took place before solar generation means its too high, but then it seems to be too low. And it is / could be.
If the battery was low, then I could pump 6kwh, or more, into the battery and this would not be registered as yield, since its only yield when used.

I have been taking daily generation to be [yield - battery usage in evening]. Which seems to be pretty accurate, and was also fine whilst I was charging the battery to 100% just after midnight.
Now I am not, it means more goes into battery storage and it appears to make the in day numbers low.

Quite a silly system really.
But also means there were days when I under recorded generation in effect.
Did you ever work out a sensible way to easily measure your daily PV generation? I'm using Solax as well (X1-Hybrid-G4) and "Daily yield" seems to vary around 13 - 22 kWh according to the app.

Yeah.

I take the yield figure and subtract 0.2 (I have that usage before I fill the batteries) and subtract 0.1kwh per 1% of used batteries when panels stop generating.
I am comfortable this gives production after comparing it to the detailed string generation figures.

Edit, if I dont charge the batteries I add 0.1kw for how reduced the batteries are at the start of the day, opposite impact to the end of the day in effect.

Yield is wierd, its usage really but ignores battery charging!

Ta!

so my installers of my solar system got back to me regarding my batteries refusing to charge off the grid.
they said they have had a number of people complaining. it seems Solis rolled out an update and it has done.somethibg to the date and time setting in the inverter. it's wrong and when you try to save it it won't save
so scheduled charging is now out. they said there is nothing they can do so I guess it is on solis to roll out another update.
I have mailed solis. I am glad it's happened in summer. I am losing pennies a day now but I rely on off peak battery charging in winter.

been an ok day here. a bit cloudy but over 20kwh generated. my export is down due to having to charge my batteries ... (update... charged correctly this morning after setting inverter to local time in china).

scores on the doors.

24kwh generated and 15kwh exported today.
0 imported from grid

Solis are aware of the problem, The inverter reverts back to China time & you cant reset it. Its only on certain model data sticks affected but I guess thats lots. They are on Holiday there now too. This problem is common to many, possibly all users with DLS-L or DLS-W dataloggers it seems.
