We had clouds until 11:20 when the sun came out and stayed out. Seagull's have made a right mess of the garage panels, wonder how much I'm losing due to that.
Shame about that bit between 14:40 and 16:00, an otherwise perfect day.Record day here too……just waiting til the last bit of juice gets squeezed
39 today but wasn't fully loading the panels. I think they need a clean.
Would an extendable window cleaner/ pole brush be safe to use on them?
I'm currently generating 124w...........French weather again!Could be another good day on the cards……
I hit double figures at 11:50Almost midday and no-one in double figures. We've done a stonking 2.0kWh so far.
Solar makes loads of sense anyway, but did you know that where you live in the country makes a difference? It's down to "solar irradiance" or the strength of the sun in your area and it has a big impact. A solar installation in the CT postcode area for example will generate up to 30% more than the same system in the North of Scotland!
Next up, how long do you think solar panels would take to pay for themselves? Fifteen years? Longer? How about less than seven, thanks to keen pricing and the persistent high price of energy.
This is one of the shortest solar payback periods we've ever seen.
It was more the 30% more than Scotland bit (see my location to the left), but I thought I'd leave the payback bit in the quote. It’s always been around 6 years from my calcs.
My batteries biggerIs it bigger than mine though.......
I doubt it very much.Ah, mine are a minimum of 27 years at that rate! (apparently).
