Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

Thanks all for the feedback upthread. I've got two further quotes which both come in around the £10.5k mark for a similar system. The caveat with both is they are desktop quotes so subject to them doing proper surveys. I've asked for quotes for a Tesla system out of interest. Nearly £7k is a huge saving though, and would help both with funding it and the breakeven time.

The Tesla is appealing as we had a power outage for half a day earlier this month so whole home backup would be a big asset.

check the switching times for Tesla PW3, believe it is multiple seconds (spec sheet not clear), which would not be good enough for some applications. Hence for us, we chose the sigenergy gateway, which is 0ms and have tested it out. (servers)

I don’t think I need anything instant, we have nothing critical, but the ability to access the internet and use our laptops is pretty crucial when WFH.

Tesla PW is 20ms which is the EPS standard, same as GivEnergy. It is fine for everything except some computer equipment which may reboot. It’s certainly not several seconds.

Sig is fast enough to technically be UPS but it’s not a true UPS like you’d get in a computer server, it’s still switching in the power rather than being always on.
