Indeed, rosso corsa and tan/cream are beautiful. That's actually what I was looking for but in coupe form. I came across this by chance as I was driving up to Audi Orlando and in the flesh it's stunning. I was also amazed I'd found a manual so that was definitely in its favour.

I've had a hankering for an R8 for some time but you're probably right!

We sold the Boxster right before I got the F-Type, replaced it with a 2014 Audi S5 (wife needed practicality).

R8's are lovely cars and I'd strongly consider a V10 6MT. They're starting to date a little inside I think but they look and sound sensational. You'll find them very comfortable and quite roomy inside with significantly improved quality over the GT-R.

They are kinda similar to the GT-R though in the sense that they are very easy to drive quickly. I'd say having driven a few that they're perhaps a little more involving but they don't feel as fast as even a stock GT-R, largely due to the lack of turbos.

As Gibbo says, this budget buys you a lot of car. I'd look around and try a few. You may find a nice F430 or Gallardo if you look towards the upper end of the R8 budget.

I would have held out for a rosso red/cream leather with a manual box tbh. The yellow stands out, but the tan leather just doesn't seem to fit with it. It's a unique combo but I guess that goes in it's favour as it's out of the ordinary. Great car though. Ever looked at getting a SL65 AMG?

Dude - I've never driven the F Type or the Ferrari. I do like the looks of them both though and from what I've heard the Jags exhausts noise is just sexual :o

The only other thing I have to add is:

I could've been waiting forever for one of those. I did very well on this car as well, bought it $15-20k behind market value and it actually has one of the highest stickers of any US 430 spider manual cars.

I'm not a huge fan of the big Mercedes unfortunately. Looked at an SL65 AMG Black Series with 800+ hp but I just don't see the value in them. Lovely cars to look at and drive but I just don't find them special enough. That and my wife likes to refer to AMG as "All Money Gone".

Ferrari 430 in yellow with a manual box. You sir are a hero!

For me the best looking Ferrari they have done for a while (Enzo might just shade it).

That's what people like Iceman are like. Whatever they have is the best ever, until they change it for something else, then what they had is suddenly not the best, instead what they have right now is the best.

It's why they do keep swapping or changing, an endless search for perfection that will never come to a close. Cue endless misery.
 
Uh no, not at all, maybe you should read the posts I've put on this page?

I've never said once that the cars I no longer have are bad, I even offered to list faults/flaws in the new one. There is no perfect car and thankfully that's likely to never happen.

No car I've owned is bad, in fact, the only car I've ever been utterly underwhelmed by is the E92 M3.

Both Aston Martin and Jaguar play the same game in that they love to throw money at the cars to make them move off the forecourt. Mclaren did the same thing with the MP4-12C. The Asian market fell through and they dumped all the cars into the US causing an overnight $30-50k drop in prices. Things are only just starting to recover now as for a while you could buy a brand new MP4 stickered at $270k for less than $195k. That wouldn't be an issue except for the fact that their major competitor, the Ferrari 458 is still trading at sticker price or higher for used ones!

Ah, thanks for explaining that! I guess its the same as when high end watch salesmen go on and on about how the watch is an investment and certain to double in value etc etc. Not experienced it first hand with cars though. Is it something dealers will be honest with upfront from the start or will they tell you what you want to hear and then its a crap shoot on if it'll actually turn out that way?

Appreciate the posting. Seems like some people are a little to eager to go on the attack, one can't fathom why that would be (its cuz they be mad jelly)

If you're in Sarasota, you should go to the Lamborghini dealership, they have a lot of Aventadors and even a 50th anniversary $600k roadster.
 
An interesting change, but one for the better; I can't imagine the F Type competing with this, except as comfortable daily driver.

Also, how can people not like a yellow Ferrari?! It's their official colour! Any Ferrari in yellow looks good!!

Still, you go down a random street and ask 50 people what colour they associate with Ferrari, and 49 of them will say red.
 
Incredible people think a Jag has more class than a Ferrari. Look closely on a Jag and you will find body panels stamped with a Ford badge.
