Hey cheers Simon.
Not made a post in a while, being concentrating on trying to get the M3 spot on and fix the niggles it had so I can have a good year of track action in it, the surprise of it is I use it for my daily drive far more than I expected. I really do love SMG, as mentioned earlier, the only gearbox I feel which rivals it is the 360 F1 box, just so raw, guess the only rawer step would be a sequential box.
I still can't get along with PDK or DSG when on a drive out, they just numb the car, only SMG II and the F1 box I prefer over a manual. So for me I want a manual but with no clutch.
Happy Christmas Si![]()
Merry Xmas too!
Interesting points on the gear change.
The aventador in Corsa mode is pretty brutal. You'd love that, I actually left it in sport plus mode as coming out of corners in dry it was lighting up all four wheels and I didn't fancy stacking a 250k car

The F 360 box is a little slow to do changes and seems to have a delay after you tell it, had that nice snap of the changes though, I drove one around Rockingham just after the M3 DCT and Z4. The DCT was miles ahead in terms of technology, just so instant and easy but not sure what it adds to the experience.
Gear change is a big part of the experience I agree, it's great getting back into the S2000 after other manual cars.
Oh and sequential is awesome. I was at an Msport event and got chance to drive a Fiesta R2 with a sequential box, unbelievable how good they are. Matthew Wilson was in the car next to me too which was cool.
Quaiffe now have a S2000 sequential box.
