Heres an over exadurated image of my monitor in darkness it is most definatly not this bright in use , but it does show where the brightest parts are in the corners.
Mine is warm but it is not hot so I don't see it as a problem - especially as the power supply is in the monitor. My previous TFT, though cooler, had a separate power brick and my old CRT ran a lot hotter on top!Does anyone feel that the top part of the screen feels warm after prolonged use? I keep mine on 10+ hours a day.

Nice monitor, I had a 17" viewsonic vp171b before and the panel is as good imho. The viewsonic had a few more tricks like a far better stand etc, but all in all im impressed.
