Something went wrong, ordered a Mustang, yet ended up in a British hotrod, I blame OcUK!

Got the RS30 lithium ion battery installed this weekend, bit fiddly getting it to work with factory bracket to make sure it can't move as its a touch taller, but some use of washers and its in and not going anywhere. Stock battery was 26kg, this is 4.5kg plus additional savings to removing tyre gel kit its closer to 25kg and another 21kg coming out this week in unsprung mass with new 2PC brakes.

Also removed the front plate holder, to keep it legal got a stick on plate like M3:

Far happier with the cleaner look of the front-end now.
Nice weather weekend, finally got to drive the car on clean dry roads and wow, what a machine it is, easily fastest car I've owned it is so damn capable yet so much fun too. :)

Haha driven around with no plate, I like living on the edge. :)
Lol I'm not judging :D

Anything that resembles a plate is better than no plate lol, I find on UK roads a car with no plate stands out a bit too much - whereas if you have a small plate or sticker etc it is a bit more subtle

Get a proper disk lock rather than those crappy arms.

I know disk lock is better, but thought the one I have was OK, its Thatcham approved and came second behind same manufacturer of disk lock in online reviews. Its just a basic deterrent really to put of a joyrider, if a thief really wants the car they will probably just break into the house and look for the keys for both car and disk lock.

I just try to deter them, hence the stop lock, locked gates, cctv etc.

Popped in to OcUK yesterday and had a nosey around the front end of the Jaaaaag. Took me a while to notice the holes - unless you know they’re there you really wouldn’t see them. It’s a big improvement to the front end though, I need to do the same with my GT86.

The photo makes me think of a kid standing next to his football hero. :D

Car is getting loads attention at Santa Pod, supposedly first SVR they have seen and running consistent 11.4@124mph

Mine and Kindai’s so evenly matched. :)

My last run of the day, which I decided to try wet mode to see if diff locked at 50/50 would make it even quicker, low and behold and 11.3s run:

Absolutely over the moon with the performance of this car, the guys who work at Santa Pod said an F-Type is a rare site, but they have never seen an SVR before, they also think it may be the first SVR down the quarter mile.
Car was getting lots of positive attention from kids, adults, bikers and the staff, really pulled in the crowds with a lot of wow comments and what an insanely beautiful car.
One of the staff said a new Aventador was running last week and it did consistent 11.2's with launch control as such they found my car the more impressive due to no launch control and well costing vastly less.

Here is a photo of all runs, I did manage to do a lot of runs with different gearbox settings, dynamic settings and trying short shifting as well:

PodResults.jpg

Run 1: Dynamic, but suspension soft, gearbox in normal and letting it change up at limiter. Launch from line with half throttle then full!
Run2: Dynamic, but suspension soft, gearbox in normal and letting it shift first gear, then me afterwards. Launch from line with half throttle then full!
Run3: Dynamic, but suspension soft, gearbox in dynamic and in full auto S mode and just matting the gas pedal hard.
Run4: Jumped the lights, lifted but then decided to get back in it and run.
Run5: Full dynamic mode, even suspension, gearbox in S and just mashing the gas pedal. (Notice how the suspension set to hard has marginal negative impact on 60FT and thus impacting ET.
Run6: Dynamic, but suspension soft, gearbox in S full manual mode and me changing myself and short shifting 4th around 5000rpm to use 5th instead of revving 4th out, result slower and lower terminal.
Run7: Wet Mode, Gearbox in sport and full manual mode, kicking throttle hard but not quite full then flat. Wet mode gave a substantial reduction in 60FT and thus my quickest time of the day at 11.3s

Next week, wet mode it is and perfect the throttle from the line, hopefully 2PC brake rotors on in time for next week, be interesting to see if they have any impact, doubtful but be good to see, would like to crack a 11.2s out the car as that pretty much guarantees a 10s car with tune and pulley upgrade.

Great work Jaguar you made such a quick car! :)
