Something went wrong, ordered a Mustang, yet ended up in a British hotrod, I blame OcUK!

Great to see someone experimenting with and modifying new cars. :) Always enjoy these updates!

Yeah and the local dealership seem quite helpful, I said there is an aftermarket intake (venturi) that definetely promotes SC whine but at £2200 for some whine is just crazy and I am sure Jaguar warranty might be a little awkward over a totally different intake system that also has no prevention against hydro lock. The muffler plastic tube sections after the maf are £60 each, I've ordered one for now, if I can successfully gut it, I shall buy another, then try a fitment.

I shall then trial fit, disconnect battery for 30 minutes, re-connect and let car run for 30 minutes just in case the muffers in the tubes being gone also allow more airflow, of course it will be metered by the maf so the ECU will adapt as been a modern car I would assume any marginal increase in airflow the ECU will adjust fuelling if required but maybe @Jonnycoupe can confirm or ask a colleague please?

If all runs well, I shall learn how to datalog the car to just check the fuel trims, spark tables etc. all look as they should, though it should in theory cause no issues I'd rather take no chance and be 100% sure, though the Venturi intake is marketed as a no tune required intake and thats a far more dramatic change to the intake. Filters wise I will just keep with stock ones as they are a pain to change and the dealership fitted a pair of new ones at the service prior to my collection.

But yeah better braking and a touch more SC whine and I will be very happy indeed. :D

Well I've been mentioning 2PC floating disc, well they are finally made and the weights are in:

Suncut Edge (I am not going with this design):

PLAIN Edge (I am going with this design but a more regular drilled pattern):

I am just going with a regular drilled pattern though, similar to below image which is a disc from a BMW M4 that Wortec made, just prefer the plain drilled style, not worried about cracking and Wortec heat treat disc anyway, but its not a track car so not worried about cracking. A solid 20kg of unsprung mass saved with nicer looking disc and hopefully with the EBC yellows some additional braking torque. :)

They get fitted next week, the 20kg lighter battery is also due any day, a different approach to modifying the Jaguar as all weight saving modifications as I do not find myself wanting additional power, of course it will happen at some point in the not too distant future. Hope to get battery in this weekend and this Friday going to play in Caterhams. :D

Good saving on the corners... every gram on the corner weights makes a difference :)

Yes in fact they have managed to match ceramic savings with suncut edge edition disc, but I do not like those, think they look like flowers and look smaller. So gone with plain edge design which is within a kilo of the savings the ceramic option gives but at £2000 for the full set this is a far cheaper option, Wortec have confirmed their disc work nicely with EBC yellows which is good news. :)

A very simple modification but finally swapped out the front red/chrome Jaguar grill badge for a black/chrome version to fit with my black growler wheel centres and again just to make it a little more unique. Its taken me ages as I could not get original off so went to Jaguar today to check out the intake tubes and ask mechanic if he knew how get it off and he just went out and did it for me, top service from Jaguar:

Happy with the result! :)

So as stock air intake tube arrived we had a look inside it before purchasing it, here is a couple of photos:

So it is very apparent the intake tube has nothing restricting airflow, but the centre has more girth and there is like hard plastic padding inside with holes, its moulded plastic and so to remove it would be quite difficult and I suspect with it remove would then create a bigger air space causing the air not to flow so clean which would not be ideal. As such I handed the part back and decided not to purchase.

I suspect the best solution would be to try and get some simple intake pipes made up or take these but chop the two ends of and then weld in a new plastic centre, but I'd not be happy with doing that. I've posted the pictures up on Jaguar forums and another guy has said he is going to attempt to get some copies fabricated and will report back.

The Eventuri intake system is £1500.00 which I feel is just stupid money for a pair of cone filters and I feel the factory intake is far better designed, its a true cold air intake, if I can pull the sound reducing parts of the stock intake out I shall be onto a winner that looks totally factory.

I've also decided to add some more orange and also plan to get rid of the comical large front number plate and plinth, but more on this over coming weeks, brakes shall go on first. :)

Yeah that looks like a broadband resonator, so no blockage but tuned to reduce intake roar/whine.

Thought as much. :(
Am I correct to assume it would be very hard to get out and won't just easily pry out?

But me posting these pictures up in the very big "more SC whine" thread over on Jaguar forums has prompted a specialist to get just that section copied in aluminium with no resonator, if the result is more sound they will mass produce as they can clearly see demand is there for just an acoustic mod as many like me understand that stock air intakes on cars tend to be exceptional these days and true cold air so can't be better in after market and as such we want to keep them, just wanna ditch these broadband resonators haha. :D

Front plate plinth and even larger front plate removed, it was so big it was blocking of most of the lower grill which aids cooling.

It was riveted on which made it a bit of pain to remove and of course there are holes though as they are rivet holes that are clean they are hard to see. Gotta a couple of plate options coming, like what I run on M3 and Mustang to go on.

But this car like the Mustang really looks so much better without a plate, well certainly without a big over sized one anyway. :)
