Something went wrong, ordered a Mustang, yet ended up in a British hotrod, I blame OcUK!

No it's Chinese, or is it Indian owned now?

It built in UK and by people living in the UK, that makes it very much British.
The money (investment) comes from Tata who are Indian, but the car is made on this island by British workers, that to me makes it very much British.

Having a factory in China does not make them Chinese, OcUK has factories in China, it does not make us Chinese. Is it a bad thing, not at all in fact its probably a good thing.

Also I believe the AJ133 in the V8 F-Types is made from Ford & Jaguar parts bin, built here in the UK.

Its very much a British car, designed and engineered by people in the UK, where the parts come from is pretty irrelevant.
Jaguar Cars. Jaguar Cars is a brand of cars made byJaguar Land Rover. This is a British car builder, owned by the Indian builder Tata Motors since the beginning of 2008. It was established in 1922 by William Lyons.

Half Chinese half Indian as far as I can tell.

Would Nissan be British? Or are they French now...

Whats that got to do with you been wrong about Jaguar been Chinese when they clearly are not? :)

Built here, engineered here, cash flow from India. Very much a British company to me.

I'm not wrong though, well maybe half wrong. I thought China had the controlling share. What have you got against Chinese and Indians?

Absolutely nothing, I am just telling you that you are wrong and my car is very much British.
What have you got about admitting you were / are wrong?

That’s a joint venture which is the only way to setup a factory in China like every other OEM, otherwise you have to sell imports with massive import tarriffs. JLR took the advantage of a new supplier base and tooling to do a long wheel base XF as that’s what Chinese want.
That rule may be being relaxed anyway.

PS. I’m not Chinese.

Jaguar isn't British. Sorry about that.

Yes it is with cash support from India and a factory in China. Heart of design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities is in the UK, it is very much British.

You can't be British mate, that is simply not possible, according to Jigger British and UK no longer make cars. ;)

Yeah I remember reading about a deal with Jaguar and a Chinese firm. I thought that was a part sale as TATA wasn't doing great at the time IIRC.

jigger logic -> if you're born (and conceived) in Britain and after X years your parents move to India or China, then you and parents suddenly become Indian and Chinese.

Derp.

Adoptive parents that never come to collect you?

Jaguar hasn't been British since Ford started gluing pictures of pussycats on Mondeos and calling them X types.

TATA have done a good job as adoptive parents. I like these Indian Jags.
