Something's different...

:D Looking good.

How much did it set you back to the conversion? Much more fun to drive?

I don't know what it's like to drive yet (well I do really: the car is awesome standard ;))! It'll be back on the road Friday after the new brakes are fitted. The ECU is being mapped tomorrow hopefully too.

As for cost well I got a pretty good deal it's going to be around £2.5k when all is done, so to be honest, not bad at all. :)

Oh and the insurance has only gone up by £65 for the year :D

Old Git :D

Looking good mate, it's sure gonna be swift with that thing. Is it not gonna take away a bit of the fun now that it's got enough power to match the chassis. One of the big things trumpeted about the MX-5 is that it's the most fun car at legal speeds. A bit more power might change that a bit, no?

Old?! :(

Well the chassis was so over engineered (as was the engine really) that it can easily cope with a lot more power, and to be honest I don't understand why they didn't manufacturer them in Europe with a turbo as standard.You/I'll still be able to have lots of fun at legal speeds - that's part of the fun, yanking it round a roundabout or a series of tight bends. The only this is now I'll have an extra a little bit of power to get me going again ;)

I can't wait... Friday isn't going to come quickly enough!!

Wonder who'd be quicker round a track now. You have slightly superior power now and you have rwd, but mine's a whole lot easier to drive quick being FWD and I think I'm a bit lighter.

Would be interesting.

Yeah it would. You're about 60kg lighter which helps. But power to weight ratio is in my favour now (well without me in it anyway :o).

Both the clio and mx5 are reknown for their cornering ability - but maybe there might be a bit of an advantage with less potential understeer of the mx5?

Obviously I'd be quicker cos I'm better than you :p Seriously though it would be interesting to get an "expert" to try them both.

Well done W, expensive job but let's face it - it had to be done, and just in time for the RR and the summer months too. :D

What kit is it? Or is it bespoke?

How much does the car weigh?

Are they going to dyno it for you when it's done - if so get the dyno up.

What sort of torque figures will it produce btw?

you total goit, damn you, damn you to hell :p

thats going to be so, so much fun :)

I'm so so tempted, but for now its not the priority, and i'm still waiting to see the cold side mp62 supercharger fitted to a uk car :D 250bhp baby, yer!
