I tweaked with the settings a little, but generally left it on auto all night long. Minor annoyances, sometimes, it just won't take the picture. It focuses in, sorts its self out, but no. Won't take a picture. Unsure if it's a setting, or a feature. Happens everynow and then.
Some nice pics but I still think the Fuji X10 has the best IQ of the 'compact' market. Granted, the X10 isn't going to slip in your jeans pockets but it takes amazing shots.
Larger sensor doesn't necessarily mean better colour depth, dynamic range, iso performance etc.
The fuji x10 has better dynamic range than some mirrorless cameras for example.
Unfortunately since DXO mark has died, there's no sensor data for the Sony.
What do you mean by better IQ, and do you have any info to back that up?
I would have thought given the Sony sensor is 2x larger would give it an advantage.
I would have thought the RX100 would easily outperform the x10 for IQ when viewed at the same output size.
It's much better at taking pics of coins, that's true.
