There's quite a few places on the net which already have it at about £275 and £290 though given the minor changes from Z3 to Z4 and to Z5 I don't expect there will be mad reductions on the z3 anytime soon. I hope so as I'm looking to pick up a Z3 but want it sub £200, highly doubt it though!

Guess its either the S6 (As its cheaper now) or Nexus 5 for me this year.

No overheating issues, nice. Sold on the premium myself. That focus speed, I expect raw image capture too as its a new camera module from the Alpha boys.

4k screen, really..... As if 2560x1440 @ <5.5" wasn't stupid/pointless enough already.

I just love the pure stock android experience and guaranteed + fast updates, still can't believe after all these years of android dominating the market that 3rd parties suck for timely updates especially Samsung...

I've disregarded the Note 5 as Samsung have lost the plot and don't deserve my money from here on. Note 3 was the height of their prime. Been downhill since for the Note range.
4k makes sense since you capture in 4k so having a 4k screen for playback is a very good thing. Plus its going to look amazing for VR and VR is only going to get more popular next year. Only downsize is i feel as though its going to need something better than a Snapdragon 810

Yeah, completely unnecessary. It's just about marketing, what feature can we say we have that others don't, that's how much they're all struggling with smart phones.
But hey, I think it's fine, some people will really want it. If they'd made the normal Z5 into this beast then I wouldn't have been happy, but as an extra option, why not.
