I don't understand why the z5c I have can, and the z5 can't. I'm not seeing mention of this issue in reviews either which is strange, they are usually all over this issue.
strange... does it get warm when charging also?
My Z5 turned up today and so far I'm liking it. Its a nice upgrade from my Z1, which has been pretty flawless for the past 2 years.
Thought I'd give 4k recording a try to see how it fairs up. Stuck it in my car mount in my work van and set it away recording on my drive home. Image stabilisation was off but managed 14mins + without any overheating warnings and the phone was only warm when I stopped it due to getting home. Will try it more over the next days, but so far I have no problem with it
I've managed 15 mins today recording 4k.
I've managed 15 mins today recording 4k.
Was that with the Intelligent active mode stabilisation or w/e its called on?
I was reading a Chinese article and If I understood correctly, they seem to be able to record up longer without it on. They suspect it may be the culprit in the overheating saga, thats If Google translator hasn't messed up the article.

@Mint_Sauce can you see if it makes a difference with it off?
well it managed about 7 and a half mins with stabalising on before it closed the app i am inside and my thermometer says its 23 degc in here. it did warn me before i started recording that it my close if it gets too hot.
i do still have the back plastic on which wont help with heat dispersal.
I think the longest i recorded 4k previously on my old phone was about a minute so this doesn't really bother me.
How long can you get with it off?
Under similar conditions if possible.
Since some sites are suggesting the stabilisation is causing the device to hear up faster
