*** Sony Xperia Z5 ***

Had a play about with a Z5 at the weekend. Sony had a promotional area going on at the Gateshead metro centre. Z5 looks like a decent bit of kit, though i have to pay £200 to upgrade from my current contract! Tempted to get one in a few months time! Currently still the proud owner of a Z3

Z3 to Z5 here. Decent enough upgrade. Camera worth it. Not sure about the battery yet. Think the z3 was better. Just seems to be a constant slope down with estimated 23hrs from a full charge

Just been pushed an update no details on the differences yet, 85mb, took a good 10 minutes to install (32.0.A.5.29)

Yeah I like it! Pushed to its limits today. 15 hours on with 5 hours being on screen time. 3% left. If I tried that with the iPhone, it would have died around tea time.

I upgraded from a z1 and loving the 5. Battery life is impressive, 24hrs on, 3hrs screen time and 44% charge left. That's with stamina mode off too :)

I got home from work at 5.30pm with 80‰ left after unplugging at 8am. I'd have had to charge my s6 most days at that point.

This Z5c is mucho impressive, Sony needs to sort the over processing of low light photos and i'd be pretty much completely happy.

I'm worried about that too. In the shop though it wasn't much bigger than my s6. I think the squareness of it makes it look longer than it is

Yeah and I assume the roundness of the S6 would make it more comfortable to hold.

Damn I wish Sony managed to slim down the bezels and make it a little shorter.

But I guess whats done is done.

Still waiting to see If the price drops anytime soon.

Upgraded from a iPhone 4s. I like it, don't think it's as intuitive as ios but as I've recently had a baby I wanted something with a better camera and bigger screen to watch films in bed. Can't fault the camera, tried some product shots for my business for installation and it really let's you enlarge the picture with no pixelation, great for cropping.
I do find it a little large for using as a phone tho

How is in the hand compared to the Edge?

The Z5 looks kinda long.

I have to say that the Z5 feels more comfortable in hand than the S6 Edge.
It's great have really thin bezels and the edge screen looks lovely but when you hold it it's quite easy to be activating things on the edge screen, esp. when you are typing on the onscreen keyboard.
As great as the S6 edge looks I don't think it's as practical in everyday use as the Z5.
The prefer the thickness of the Z5 as you get more of a decent grip.

Battery life seems great on this... Was worried at start as it didnt seem to much better than my old S3 but, after a couple of charges, its working great... 2 full days and I still had circa 30% left.

Granted I aint a mega heavy user but I had to charge my S3 every night on similar usage.

This is without any of the Stamina modes on.

I may have to switch off the tap to wake function tho. My suit trouser pocket is too thin and activates it against my leg. Ok with jeans etc and if in my jacket though. Its a shame as I like the function. I also like the Smart Calling where I can answer a call just by lifting it to my ear :)

It is. The compact version is more comparable to iPhones in size
