*** Sony Xperia Z5 ***

Already a few videos on youtube with a comparison of the screens 4k v 1080p ,they can't see much difference is what I am seeing so far.

Not really surprised as you can't see any difference with qhd.

With all the videos floating about most of my fears have been put away in regards to the SD810.

The Z5 will be my next phone for sure. I really like the Sony UI and I can't wait to get back to an Xperia phone.

Good job Sony. Well done

Glad these phones are being well received - need Sony to remain in the smartphone business.
Personally I really dislike the design - honestly think they look terrible but will wait til I see one in the flesh before writing it off my list of potential upgrades.

Not a huge fan of the design either but do find the black and gold in addition to the black and graphite colour appealing.
Held the Z3+ in CPW, the other day must say I didnt find it all that confortable to hold.
Too blocky for my liking.

I'd like it better If they were able to slim the bezels and make the phone a bit shorter.
The phone in all white makes the bezels look huge to me and make it ugly.

This phone is literally delivering everything. If Sony don't gain market share with this, then they never will.

I've gone from a Note 4, G4, and One M8 this year, to settle on the Z3 and its just a brilliant all round phone. The Z5 has the camera to make it near enough a perfect device.

Bravo Sony.

not a fan of paying 700 odd quid for a phone good job my contracts up so can sail strait into this

Wouldn't you just be paying the £700 over 24 months then? I seriously can't ever justify paying that kind of dosh for a phone...it's a flippin phone ffs

200, maybe 300 ok, but 700? for a phone?? nahhhhh

I honestly think Sony could be the next Samsung if only they could market their phones well...

I think you're right... and also why did they not release this at the same time the new Galaxy series came out. My difficulty now is that I'm off to HK in October to pick a Note 5 up, since we're only going to get proper reviews of the Z5 Premium in November and by that time, Sony has already lost me as a customer. It was always going to be between this and the Note 5.

Sod it, I just went ahead and pre-ordered the Z5 in black on EE. I was on T-Mobile before:

10GB (Double speed and EU Roaming)
Unlimited SMS and Calls
FREE Phone
£38.49 (includes the 30% F&F Discount)

Basically doubled my current monthly cost but that included taking a hit on the F&F discount as its 50% on T-Mobile... Had to come off it at some point I guess :/

Worked out that the extra £19/month comes to £456 over 24 month contract so its less than the handset alone. Also, really needed to upgrade the tired old S3 :o

It's damn right ridiculous. I love my 1440p screen but in all honesty, 1080p would be fine. They claim 2 days battery; an 810 pushing that many pixels is a very big claim indeed. Let's not forget the camera would crash/overheat in some modes on the Z3+. I hope these phones, and Sony's hugely improved update policy, give Samsung a good kick up the bum.

I don't get these complaints.

Buy the 1080p one then? The specs are otherwise the same.

Except they aren't the same, two biggest features people decide on, screen size and battery are different.
The Lenovo with a whopping 5000mah looks interesting as well.

Can't say I was considering Sony for my next phone after their last update but with Note 5 somewhat underwhelming it may be a choice between this and G4 Pro.

They should have waited, the 820 is just around the corner. I guess we can expect a Z5 Premium+ soon.

Surely the important factor is battery life rather than battery size, I would imagine the larger battery is necessary due to the screen on the premium, rather than actually lasting longer.

I guess time will tell once the the actual review units appear but the initial hands on previews seem promising especially if they have tamed the 810 without throttling.

The Amazon Germany prices actually work out as the cheapest if you have a card which doesn't change foreign transaction fees.
